I am a Christian woman of 36, living in Italy. I don't want to be a say-at-home mom, I have many interests and I wouldn't feel completly satisfied if I'd dedicated myself to the household completely. HOWEVER...I have been told since the day I remember that the most important thing was my job, that marriage was useless and had no meaning and of course, to get married (if I really had too) as late as I could, that I should "explore my sexuality" and have as much "fun" as I could and "if" I want to have kids I should never allow them to be an obstacle in front of my having fun and career. Oh! And of course that I should NEVER be a "slave" to my husband because he should be able to take care of himself if he was a "real" man. I and feel completely betrayed! I have come to find and accept the fact that in realty...as a woman, I would have LOVED to get married as a young woman, I would have loved to have more than one child, that I actually enjoy taking care of my daughter AND my husband, that my body is the most sacred place that I live in and I should protect it, that all the "sexual revolution" that I was told freed women...was a LIE. And I truely hope I will be able to show this to my daughter as well.

Gianni Versace once said that "women need to explore their sexuality." (That wasn't for the benefit of women, of course).😂😂 But you know, everyone is mislead and falls into error at some time in our lives. I respectfully suggest that you take a further look at the beauty and place of the Christian woman, readily available to you at your fingertips in the Catholic church. Try to find a spiritual director within the church who can guide you further.

I love what you are saying, I felt the same fervor with regards to the topic of sexuality. I wish I could shield all the women in the world from the false narrative of having any other sexual partner besides the one that’s worthy of it by show of his committing his life to yours. It’s crazy how the television and culture of the west has misled and misused women. Let’s protect our daughters from that and pray for a better future for all the women in our world. I really love your statement

After receiving the first revelation, Prophet Muhammad went to Khadījah (may God be pleased with her) and said: ‘Cover me! Cover me!’ She covered him, until the fear had left him, then he told her what had happened, saying: ‘I feared for my life.’ Khadījah responded: ‘No, by God. God would never humiliate you. You maintain family ties, help to carry people’s burdens when they are tired, you give to the poor, you are generous to your guests, and help people in times of hardship.’ Whenever I remember how she assured him, I just cry. So when I see my husband come home tired from work, I give him Salam because how Khadija cared for her husband makes me appreciate my own husband. What rahma, what mercy.

I was born and raised in Italy with a Christian family. My parents are not so religious but my grandmother was, peace be upon her. She try teach me values which I am very grateful for. I found difficult at time to deal with other girls ( in my twenties) that liked to talk about having sex with as many man as possible, they thought it was fun and their right to do so; I didn’t and they made fun of me. I also remember the pressure I felt about this subject since I was 12. My peers were discussing about it and show themselves off when they have done it. It made me feel uncomfortable. Whenever I showed sign of interest in God and religion in general they also made fun of me and made feel I was stupid. Today I am a revert Muslim mother (34 years ) of two children married with a man and I love this very much. I couldn’t ask for more Alhamdullilah. I am obviously not hanging out with these type of people anymore. I changed and I am wondering if they changed too. This society is sick and it really brainwashed us specially young girls. I really hope many will watch this InshAllah

I’m so glad I found this conversation. I’m a non-religious/athiest (raised Catholic) young 40+ woman with two kids (4 and 6) living in the US and this resonates so much. I was having a hard time articulating why I thought this new-wave feminism was eroding society - why I felt so lost with working a corporate job, why I couldn’t keep a relationship, married and divorced within 6 months at 28. My mother was also a victim of societal programming and never has been able to get out of the trap, as she (a 63-year-old woman) continues to jump from relationship to relationship (it’s really sad and pathetic.) I had no positive female role models. I didn’t live with my dad (he remarried and had another baby with a stepmother who was jealous of a 5-year-old), nor did he raise me, because my mother took us away from after she decided she was done with marriage with a 3-year-old and 1-year-old baby-we visited him every other weekend. After finally having children at 35 and 37, it wasn’t until I was in the throes of motherhood that I realized this is all WRONG-this is not the way we are supposed to raise children. How could women (my mother) tear their children away from their father, break up the family unit, and throw their children into all-day, year-round daycare? In the West, we are watching the downfall of society. I think women should have choices and rights and all of the freedoms that humans should have, but I do think we/society threw out the baby with the bathwater-pun intended. Feminism has demonized traditional values, self-worth and self-respect, family, children, respect for our elders. It’s always baffled my mind that in the US women only get 8 weeks maternity leave, maybe 3 months paid if you’re lucky to care for an infant-and we wonder why the kids are insane right now-profits over people. Just like another comment wrote, I feel lied to. I waited too long to have kids-out of wedlock, mind you. I’m married now, but I was so brainwashed, that I thought legal marriage was pointless and stupid. I would love to have more kids, but I feel too old and tired to do it again with a newborn, and I’m already an “old” mom. I have no help in raising my children, because my selfish mother moved states away. I don’t have a village-most of us don’t in the West. I see more and more people and women waking up to how bad and wrong society has become reiterating the same points about modern feminism and gender roles. Society has brainwashed women to basically become the men we seek, but the men can never live up to our “standards,” and the cycle continues. I do hope things change one day, and I hope to instill better values and guidance in my children than I was ever afforded. Mashallah Sheikha Fatima and thank you Mrs. Peterson for bringing to light these topics. Let’s hope more and more people wake up to this madness.

I started to cry halfway through this... where you mentioned children. I often can't watch any happy ending stories. I was married once to an alcoholic and drug addict. We had one daughter, who i was lucky to get help raising, but it was a struggle. He stepped in to care for her with me, finally getting his own life together. I endured a farce "marriage" by a man who knew my family had money and wanted a place to live free. I had two children (four pregnancies, he didn't want kids) and a subsequent 3-4 years of suffering trying to raise them with him. This man was raised by a single mother. The saddest part of this is how my children suffer. I know I do. I sit here feeling comforted, listening to this with my back in pain...I had to take a day off because of it. Exactly. The Right Wing has a tendancy to romanticise the past, while the Left goes too far in running away from it. The oppression that women of previous generations suffered is the reason the world is in such a mess today, with wokeism, identity politics and the hypersexualisation of society - these are all an ignorant, misguided, naive response to it. It's high time the centrists dominated, that is, people who sensible enough to recognise that a society in which gender norms are narrow and fixed doesn't serve anyone, but that neither does pretending that sex is casual and banal and risk-free.

In my opinion in the Christian faith husbands are commanded to be gentle and mutually submissive to their wives and are obligated to them. Christians and Muslims cannot be natural allies. Taqiyya means we can never trust you. We may ally together against the atheists, but we Christians know that once we have removed their influence, you will turn on us. Our scriptures command us to love our enemies and to treat our neighbors as ourselves, but your Quran commands you to impose the jizya on us and make us live in poverty while you take our belongings from us and persecute us. It makes me sad because the atheists are ruining the lives of both your children and ours, and we could build a culture of faith together but how can we cooperate with you knowing that sharia commands you to wage a war of subjugation against us?

And if you think Muslim women are oppressed you’re very wrong and have clearly been fed lies through media about bizarre practices done only in specific theocracies. If you did any research about Islam you would Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) literally fought to end the mistreatment of women and established rights for women. @@hereweare9096 The offical marriage here in the US back then used to be women marrying as early as they reach the age of puberty (Mostly 14). However, I don't see you addressing that point at all? Care to talk about it? Also, Mary gave birth to Jesus Christ when she was 13 years old. Does that mean that the father(god) is naive? No! Not at all. These were different times back then and we can't judge 2 timelines by arguing about their traditions and differences. People passed away maximumly at the age of 40 back then, so life was much of a survival competition compared to now.

👉Sahih Muslim (8:3460) "Why didn't you marry a young girl so that you could sport with her and she sport with you, or you could amuse with her and she could amuse with you?" - Muhammad posed this question to one of his followers who had married an "older woman" instead of opting to marry a child. 👉Sahih Bukhari (4:232) - Muhammad's wives would wash semenn stains out of his clothes, which were still wet from the spot-cleaning even when he went to the mosque for prayers. (Between copulation and prayer, it's a wonder he found the time to slayy pagans). 👉Sahih Bukhari (6:300) - Muhammad's wives had to be available for the prophet's fondlingg even when they were having their menstruall period. 👉Sahih Bukhari (62:6) - "The Prophet used to go round (having seksual relations with) all his wives in one night, and he had *nine wives." (*Sources say that Muhammad had 10 to 14 wives at a time, depending on the Timeline) Muhammad also said that it was impossible to treat all wives equally - and it isn't hard to guess why. 👉Sahih Bukhari (5:268) - "The Prophet used to visit all his wives in a round, during the day and night and they were eleven in number." Islam is the worship of the pagan, Hindu moongod 🌙 Shiva, whom the pagan arabs called "Allah" (the god). Shiva, the 🌙 moongod, was worshipped at the kaba IDOL stone by the Hindu, Muhammad, and his ancestors. Allah = Shiva = 🌙 moon god Moon 🌙 on Shiva's forehead Moon 🌙 on top of every Mosque Muhammad was a False Prophet who desired to start his own religion. However, he LACKED in knowledge and imagination, so he simply took his moongod Shiva and modelled him on the Abrahamic God YHWH (YAHWEH). elevating himself to "prophet" status. The Hajj pilgrimage that Muslims do at Kaba is no different to the amcient Hindu pilgrimage called Shivaling, whereby the hindu arabs travelled to Mekkah to bow down around the black 🪨 stone which was shaped as a PE NIS, to resemble the Pe nis of Shiva. Muhammad loved it so much that he actively Kissed this stone (IDOLATRY) , and encouraged his followers to do the same. This S E X based religion is no wonder that the false prophet was obsessed with S E X, as is evidenced in the hadeetts. Islam COPIES and blends both Hinduism AND the Abrahamic religions. The Only True Abrahamic religion Today is the Messianic/ Christian one, which includes the MESSIAH, YESHUA (Jesus), and Both the Torah and the Gospels. Islam is a FALSE religion. Judaism no longer exists since the followers of Judaism today still continue fo REJECT the Messiah, thereby rejecting YHWH, the God of Abraham. Is it any WONDER why YHWH kicked them out of Israel for so many centuries, since rejecting their own MESSIAH? Give up your false religions and seek out YHWH and His Messiah, Jesus Christ!

In fact, I was a Muslim, but I abandoned this religion two years ago. After in-depth research, it became clear that it is a terrorist religion identical to ISIS and Al-Qaeda, and it contains thousands of terrorist Qur’anic doctrines, such as jihad and fighting the world and peoples until they submit to Islam. The slaughter of apostates and the terrorist doctrine of loyalty and disavowal, as well as the issues of devaluing women and treating them as subordinates, while encouraging slavery and enslaving people after their conquest, and forcibly raping captive women and selling them in markets. And dozens of other reasons that show that it is a corrupt religion

In the late 1990's many middle easterners immigrated to my city. One day I was standing at an elevator. Behind me was a middle eastern man and behind him a woman in hijab. Of course, I ended up in the back of the elevator, the man in the middle and the woman in the front. When the elevator opened the woman stood to the side to let the man go first. The man then stepped aside, turned to me, gestured for me to go first, then stepped in front of the woman, existed and she behind him. I was so impressed that he took the time to to respect both cultures. I saw other situations that that made it clear that the examples I saw on TV were not typical. These conversations between traditional women are crucial to revive what women lost to the feminist movement and social modernization. For too long we have been overshadowed, put down, and ridiculed by those who champion so-called "women's rights" and to see women like yourself and Sheikha Fatima stand proudly against such notions using spirituality and feminine grace is, like I said, refreshing. Please continue to have these conversations with people of different religious backgrounds as it helps us see that we are not alone in this fight against modernization.

You don t have to hide yourself behind religious vows to be a decent human being, to be respectful and balanced. Hiding your body in the extreme is the same as abusing it being overly frivolous. Both are extremes, decency and common sense shouldn't be enforced just by belief alone..

@@babymonalisa Honour Killing of women in islam Tony Abbott, ex-Prime Minister of Australia said about muslims. Islam has “Honor Killing” where most frequently women can be killed by family members for violating principles of their religion. The murderers are rarely charged. “Offenses” include but are not limited to refusing an arranged marriage, being a victim of rape, renouncing Islam (apostasy), dressing in ways deemed inappropriate and homosexuality. It is happening with muslims in the West and very frequently in muslim-majority countries. The Quran encourages muslim men to marry pre-puberty girls which sometimes results in the tragedy of the young girl dying of bleeding on/after her wedding night. Pakistan PM vows to eradicate honour killings after Oscar nod Rifqa Bary but, so far, with no success. FGM Islamic rule and not local tradition FGM stands for Female Genital Mutilation. or Khitan) is the name of the Muslim ritual for doing it. Two muslim woman are convicted of it in a muslim minority country. PM Cameron of UK reports nearly 4,000 in 2014. It’s happens more often in muslim families. Men leaders of women Men are in charge of women by what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance-advise them; forsake them in bed; and, strike them. But if they obey you, seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand. [An-Nisa:34] Clerical mouhalel in islam to marry divorced women, intercourse for mutual orgasm then legal to marry ex-husband. (2:230) And if he has divorced her [for the third time], then she is not lawful to him afterward until [after] she marries a husband other than him. And if the latter husband divorces her [or dies], there is no blame upon the woman and her former husband for returning to each other if they think that they can keep [within] the limits of Allah. These are the limits of Allah, which He makes clear to a people who know. So, when a muslim divorces his wife, say it 3 times, she will legally divorced. Even if it was not her mistake. He may have been angry of his work or something else. Still she has to pay for his error. She has to have sex with another man of his choice for at least few days. So this is like allowing another man to rape her (as her consent is not necessary) then after that that man must divorce her so she can go back to her children who are automatically given to the father (unless he refuses to take them). So she has to go though sexual molestation/rape and through emotional abuse as he has the right to forbid her from visiting their children. Muhamass marriage with aisha Narrated `Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death). Sahih Bukhari (Wedlock, Marriage (Nikaah)) Reference : Sahih al-Bukhari 5133 In-book reference : Book 67, Hadith 690 However, he started molesting her at the age of 6y by using the thighing method of sex. Meaning, he was rubbing his penis between her tiny legs until he ejaculates. In reply to muslim statement that ayesha reached her puberty, but muhamass(crij) deflowered her at 9 y. old, when he saw her pubic-hair started to show-up and NOT when she had her 1st period. In fact, in other hadith(s), ayasha was still playing with dolls till the age of 14. (yhis custom is only allowed for girls who did NOT reach their puberty. In reply to muslims statement that it was a customs in these days to marry young girls. When we asked muslims, show us proof from your books about a man, other than muhamass(crij) who married a pre-pubescent girl. They fail to show us a proof of such a custom. In reply to their statement that 'aranged marriage' is legal in Europe and many other countries. We answer that an arranged marriage is totally different from child-marriage. In an arranged marriage, usually, 2 families (in a nasty dispute or in a common goal), marry their very young boy to a very young girl with the understanding that the wedding (etc...) will happen much later when both kids are grown-up and able to marry each others. (Not to mention, that in many cases an arranged marrige may be broke with the agreement of both parties. while child-marriage cannot be cancelled except by a divorce). Such arranged marriage will reconcile the families for good or will facilitate the commercial dealing in between both families. islamic hadith talks abt muhamass(crij) practicing thighing-sex on ayesha between the ages of 6y. and 9 y. There is another hadith that tells that muhamass(crij) carried ayesha on his back to go to a show. If we assume that the muslim who insist that ayesha was 18y. old , how can a 54y old guy carry an 18y. old woman on his back and walk for a certain distance. Muhamass having sex with wife during her period ‏Narrated Um Salama: While I was laying with the Prophet under a single woolen sheet, I got the menses. I slipped away and put on the clothes for menses. He said, "Have you got "Nifas" (menses)?" I replied, "Yes." He then called me and made me lie with him under the same sheet. Sahih Bukhari (Menstrual Periods) Reference : 298 In-book reference : Hadith 5 Most women are going to juhanam:Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: Once the Messenger went out to the Musalla of `Id-al-Adha/Al-Fitr prayer. I don't usually comment, but I'm happy that you had the chance to allow this Muslim woman to speak about Islam and fill in the missing gaps of knowledge that unfortunately lots of folks seem to have. The part where you mentioned that it takes faith to raise kids is truly legit. Not only does it takes faith but it takes both courage and patience as well. These are three values that significantly ensure a well-raised generation. Unfortunately, parenthood nowadays in the states would lack one, two, or probably all three of these values. This is hence the reason why you'd witness a majority (not entirely) of America's latest generation either lost or confused. Speaking about Islamic dressing, Christian women here used to cover their heads back then as well, but this tradition has decreased significantly over time. Now, the only Christians who would still have women covering their heads are the Amish Christians. You would rarely see any Orthodox or a Catholic female covering their heads nowadays(except nuns of course...). After all, Christianity, Judaism and Islam are three faiths that are placed under the title of "Abrahamic Religions". We all mostly share similar core values and morals.

The book she wrote was about Mohammed's first wife but he later married another 13 women. His youngest wife was Aisha: The majority of traditional sources state that Aisha was betrothed to Muhammad at the age of six or seven, but she stayed in her parents' home until the age of nine, or ten according to Ibn Hisham, when the marriage was consummated with Muhammad, then 53, in Medina.

I only stopped because he became too heavy for my back. At the time, no one else was doing it in my town. Today, i see parents carrying their baby, but only ever on the front (never on the back) and always doing it wrong, with their baby facing outwards, which stresses a child and they have no means of shutting off their senses.

It resonated deeply with me when Fatima talked about her experience marrying young and having an intimate relationship for the first time within those clear boundaries - in particular, the feeling of being safe. I married at 18 and I can clearly remember that feeling. It surprised me, because it wasn't like I had felt unsafe before or that I thought I needed to feel safe. I thought I was comfortable by myself. It wasn't until I had that experience that I realized that feeling safe was one of the things that meant the most to me in our marriage. I really enjoyed the conversation - Tammy's voice is almost therapeutic to listen to, and it was really interesting to hear from a traditional, muslim woman like Fatima - I haven't had the chance to do that before. Thanks to you both!

Then when you understand where the differences comes then you see, we where same just humans and belive in the Creator it was normal it was a part of being human with morals and shame but then powers came who where al ready there before us and mislead humans and let humans worship them and other things so humans lost the true self, real humanity so we had so different things and belives but the begining we where one. Islam brought the truth back the real messege thats why there was nothing after it. No more Prophets or message like before Islam as it was the true and last message that made all clear. @@AMMAR-911 Salaam! - You are generally correct and May Allah forgive me for any unintentional erring on my part. In very early Islam Omar RA was forbidden to read a section of the Torah as Quran was being revealed in order to avoid confusion and mixing in his understanding. However, when Islam was more established Prophet Mohammed SAW ordered Zaid ibn Thabit RA to learn Hebrew, (which he learnt in 13 days!) to see if what was being quoted by the Jews of the time was correct or not (with respect to the sanctioning of the adulterer and adulteress). Scholars now have a difference of opinion on this matter, in that it is considered permissible by some to read the scriptures of other religions in order to reply to the doubts that people have about Islam. I myself live and grew up in a majority Christian country and am surrounded by Christians, I personally would consider myself ignorant if I didn’t have some understanding of their faith. For example when a Christian asks me about my hijab, I inform them of the gentle and eloquent instruction of modesty in the Quran with regards to wearing a khimaar, but it’s useful to also be able to point out that the instruction to cover the hair is more harshly stated in the Bible 1 Corinthians 11:6 where women are told to shave their hair off if they don’t cover!, people tend to take more notice when you demonstrate that you are well versed and are a person of some understanding. Finally, All actions are judged by intention, I hope I have clarified my intention and Allah knows best.

This is a great and respectful discussion. The decision should be mutual and respected. My wife of nearly 20 years has always wanted to work and have her own financial independence. We mutually cook and care for our 3 children as Muslims. There should be clear communication and understanding in the beginning of the relationship as Sheikha Barkatulla stated in the discussion.

Thank you Tammy for this interview. I didn't even realise you did podcasts as well and this was recommended to me. Even as a muslim I did not know some of the things Fatima was talking about so it was refreshing for me too. Thank you for this content. May Allah bless you and your family.

This was so refreshing to listen to. Thank you Mrs. Petersons for giving a Muslim woman the opportunity to speak on her own behalf. I was very pleased to hear the kindness and understanding from Mrs. Peterson. May Allah reward sister Fatima for her knowledge and accurate description of Islamic teachings,Ameen. I hope for more dialogue to once and for all clear the misconceptions regarding Muslim women. May Allah Al -Hadi give Hadiyah to Mrs. Peterson and through her many others ,Ameen.

In the Name of Allah-the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful. All praise is for Allah-Lord of all worlds, the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgment.
