For theory crafting creative and almost- unimaginable contraptions in the Mario Maker games and call it "Surprisingly Simple". I know that it is/was hard with the move and trying to upload videos for the fans while getting your home set up. _I_ actually recently moved as well. It was so hard for me since I didn't have access to very good internet and We're still getting the new house ready. And after all this time I kept hope. Build one yourself! You now have signal transportation, which also works offscreen, you have signal transformation between different signal options, you have timers, and even if you don't have a switch, you have some squared paper to prototype one. Levels are 27x240 Blocks in size, the camera 13.5x24 Blocks.

3D World is more intresting because: 1- Spike Balls are shell replacements. 2- Dotted line blocks have been added in the final major update in this style. 3- B O O M E R A N G ! 4- On/Off Trampolines. 5- Goomba mask. 6- P-blocks. (Also, I am still waiting for the 3.0 item review).

Yes 3.0 makes many things that used to be impossible in 3d, possible. A simple mechanic for setting the on off state when entering an area for example. Looking forward to ceave dissecting the new possibilities

I have an alternate form of timer that works in the 3D worlds style! Put a crate with a key inside at the beginning of a conveyer belt. Then put a bunch of red and blue blinking blocks along it. The pattern is red, space, blue, space, repeat. Then put a blinking block of either color where the crate will end. If a blinking block turns solid while a crate is inside, then the crate will break and drop the key. You can potentially make these timers really long, since conveyers are global ground. I used it at the end of my own level, Piranha Plantation (V6B-RC6-WJF). It’s probably not my best level, but I was proud of that one little section at the end.

Warp boxes have some unusual properties for stage themes that doors do not have: 1. They are one-way and single use. 2. They always trigger when you touch them (whether you want to or not!), whereas doors have to have the player standing near them and press UP to use them. 3. If the warp box is locked and you lack a key, you just go through it. For example, it's super easy to make a pacifist level in the 3D World style. Just give all enemies keys and force the player to go through locked warp boxes to finish the level. If an enemy is killed, the player gets a key and forces the warp box to activate, leading to such things as instant death, or a tough boss fight.

I believe that 3-D World was added for people who wanted more chill levels, even tho I've seen plenty of Hot Garbage from it. We just haven't spent enough time with it. Remember, SMM 1 was released in 2015, so we know everything about the Other Modes. Give us time, and we will make absolute Cancer like no other Mode Can.

I noticed this while playing around in 3d world but if you use Skipsqueaks, you can make a working no jump contraption if you put twisters on a platform above the Skipsqueak and a p switch in the wind stream. Then you add a big enemy on a platform several blocks above. When Mario jumps, the Skipsqueak does the same. It jumps into the twister's wind stream and pushes the p switch into the big enemy at the top.

could you potentially make a water level with some sort of air timer. Like, a trap that activates if you are in the water for a certain amount of time at once, but resets whenever you leave the water. This sounds really complicated, but I've watched your videos before.

Possible Idea: Use some thwomps, that detect when Mario is outside of water. These Thwomps constantly trigger P-Switches coming out of red pipes, when Mario is outside the water. If Mario is inside the water, the P-Switch timer runs out and when it is finished, some brick blocks retransform into shiny, yet deadly coins and therefore open up some death pipes or whatever.
