However, despite the strength, the diamond probably has its weaknesses, and, according to many, the fire is such. Is it really possible to burn it? For the first time, diamonds were discovered in Africa, on the territory of the Kimberly province. Since then, the soil in which precious stones are found is called kimberlite tubes. Diamonds are formed at the depths of the earth, in the range from 100 to 200 km. There, the pressure is at the mark of about 45 kilobar, and the temperature is 1200 degrees Celsius. In such conditions, carbon contained in the graphite begins to change its structure and turns into a diamond. For many years, the newly formed mineral gradually rises up until it is at the very surface due to volcanic emissions. At the moment, thousands of deposits have already been found that serve as a stable source of diamonds. But for their extraction it is necessary to spend a lot of effort, because from one ton of Cimberlite breed it is possible to get only one carat of the mineral. The most fertile deposits give 5 carats with the same volume.
