I have any idea for a video. You could run an experiment on using mica powders in alcohol. If your put them in small amounts of alcohol you can paint them on molds for fine details. They don't blow around or spread like it does when applied dry

HI Steve, Lovely little trinket pot I for one loved the colours u used 👍 thanks for sharing Lin, ✨

You got a real laugh out loud from me when you said "And I reply "well then don't use that color"" LOL! The piece turned out beautifully as well. I admit to often being distressed at using a lot of resin in the lids when I would prefer for them to be hollowed out like the bases are. I am still working on methods to add a spacer to the tops so that less resin is used.

Good evening, hope you are well. Lovely to catch a video this early. Just chilling as waiting for resin to cure on an egg mould I got today. I’m the muckiest pup ever when crafting. Anything can be cleaned up after.

I’m with you Steve, I do resin craft and have had a benign essential tremor since I was 14. Things sometimes don’t work out or are, like you say, messy but it doesn’t stop me, probably the opposite, drives me to do more rather than get too upset and stop trying

@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts No, no-thank YOU for always showing us new lovely things!😁 I was going to try and make the lid hollow (because of how much resin it takes)…but after seeing this, I really like how sturdy that heavy lid makes it! So I guess the only sensible solution is to make BOTH versions. 😜💖👍 Thank you again, for another delightful video!

I do a lot of painting the mica and I wasn't very happy with it because I was doing it with a normal paint brush. I seen your videos and got the micro brush. Now my stuff is much better. Thank you for that tip.

Ok, I have to go buy this mold RIGHT NOW. It's so pretty! And a great size, too! It's not easy finding these pot or dish molds that don't end up being teeny tiny, so I really appreciate that you link what you use as much as possible. Thank you!🤗

Awesome look for the lights!! I WOULD never have put burnt orange/ any orange with purple and pink!!!! They turned out to be so pretty together, so now I'm going to have to try them... Also, color shifting mica came to mind for all the different types of molds with a lot of detailing to them. Take care of you and yours. Ringy-dingy 🔔🔔🦋🦋

You nicked my mold 🤣 and then you did a much better job than I did. I like the way you decorated the pot. I like the idea of painting the molds with mica powder and have done it a couple of times successfully. Unfortunately, I did it again with a different mold and the end result was very dull, not sure what happened there, but it put me off doing it again. Having seen your results on this video, think I will try again

Hi Steve! Thank you for this video. I have seen these molds and have never bought one, I wasn't sure how it would work. And now I know it does 😀 you mentioned casting resin, as apposed to jewellery resin. The only difference between those is uv light to cure the jewelery resin and over night cure for the casting resin? I'm really new to this type of craft. Do you have a video for the difference between those two?
