Agree. When I use a regular pocket knife it often gets gunky from the tape on the box. Takes forever to clean unless you go find alcohol or other product. If the utility blade gets gunky have the same leaning option or flip blade or replace. At home use a more handyman utility knife that has 2-3 settings for length of blade. I like the bigger size & the adjustable feature.

My edc is a civivi elementum utility, with the lock deactivated to abide by English law, absolutely brilliant knofe, i use it for everything, plus i keep the big idea design utility blade fork in my wallet incase i need something to eat with. Its not intimidating, green is a super friendly colour and people understand that its a tool intuitively instead of crying because of their own assumptions. As per great video mate 👍🏻

Another reason - when your mate asks for your knife to "cut something", you hand them your utility knife - because they are going to probably misuse it (pry, screw, scrape etc) - better they damage your utility blade. That's why I keep my old tools - as loaners.

Exactly right! If I've got to cut up a dozen boxes I'm using a utility knife, not my EDC knife. HOWEVER, if I'm at a "social function" and someone wants to borrow a knife, they're getting my Victorinox manager or Classic. I've yet to see anyone be frightened by that tiny blade. I think it's a lot less threatening than a utility knife of any kind. And if the famous question comes, "why do you carry that?" the answer is "scissors, tiny blade, diamond file... nail care."

My current EDC, which i carry for a month already: Victorinox Cybertool M for a long sturdy blade, when i need one, e.g. for cutting food (which actually happens very rarely) + 9tiEDC utility knife for one hand opening. I use it most of the time and it does the job. (My EDC includes some other stuff but it is not important for this comment) A really like this combo, because I don't baby-sit my knife, since I know i can simply replace the blade, if mess it up. I used to carry a Ruike P801-SB. Cool knife but I wanted something lighter and something more practical for my life.

I personally think EDC should be based off someone’s personal needs. In my opinion I think it’s good to carry for work reasons but other than work I don’t need one.
