The Collins Longprimer stopped having italics after 1957. They were the last to hold out and probably my favorite Longprimer. I do have a really cool Nelson Longprimer from 1936 that has a yapp and a ton of extras in the back. It's an absolute brick but it's also 8vo. It's also a red letter edition with italics, though it uses the self pronunciation marks the Oxford SS Edition used in the 1940s where you have Bible Books like Genesis in syllables at the top of the page. In regards to your observation about the text and naming it a LP, the reason it's called LP is because it's a 10pt font. I put my Collins a moment ago next to my Allan and the font is identical. Now bear in mind some time in the 1940s there was a pretty much universal transition to a bolder cleaner text amongst all Longprimers (Collins, Oxford, etc.). Before this change, the lettering seemed more faint and thin and the hot metal press look was more noticeable. Your bible might have the earlier LP text like the older Oxford SS Edition/Self Pronouncing Edition. Though from looking at it later in the video I think it's the same as my 57. Depending on the Publisher, the pagination was certainly different and had to be. There is a noticeable difference between Nelson, Collins, and Oxford in their Longprimer. I also believe World used Longprimer but didn't label it, World never labeled any of their stuff :(

Thank you so much for the excellent information! I feel your pain for World Bibles; I wish the labeled things better... or at all as the case may be. As for that Thomas Nelson... Keep your eyes peeled. There might be one headed this way!
