IS IT REALLY A VOLKSWAGEN? Amarok Style Review.

Really enjoyed driving the VW Amarok last week! 🚙
It’s huge! But doesn’t feel big on the road, it’s a really refined pick up that feels like a cross between a pick up and SUV.
This is the Style which is the second lowest trim level out of four. It’s really got everything you need!
It has a 2.0l TDI engine, which you may think is small but has a whopping 500nm of torque!
Definitely the Ford Rangers more premium feeling sibling, it’s great we have the options of these two vehicles. 👀

Are you kidding? VW should be grateful to Ford for letting them share this platform to build their own truck. This is a VW only skin-deep. And going in partnership with Ford was the best thing to do for them, as VW has never had any idea how to build a pick-up truck, or an off-roader. This is why, if one has enough money (plenty, I mean), it is recommended to buy this Amarok over the Ranger, exactly because of the skin-deep VW goodies.

I've just purchased the Style in New Zealand. I've noticed a few differences in other countries. We don't have the v6 , 4 auto options and I see the tail lights are different as well. I enjoy driving mine and the only fault I wish one could turn the engine stop/start off permanently.

Towing weights are great but plenty of off roaders, suvs and pick ups have been able to for donkeys years. The 3500 kilo figure is the max due to the requirement for different license and vehicle classifications

The 360 camera will stay on when driving forward slowly, you just change a setting in the menu.
