Very good cigar. The hype is real with Oliva. Bang for your buck Oliva is top notch… Padron is still the undisputed king of Nicaragua, but the prices are much higher.

Had one today.. It started very oaky and peppery for me. Developed into more coffee notes, and leather, and slowly brought it tastes of chocolate. Lots of dark flavors, but definitely very smooth. Not something I like often, but it's a very well balanced cigar. You just can't hate an Oliva

Absolutely! I tell every new cigar smoker the same thing when they ask for recommendations. You can’t go wrong with Oliva. Just work your way through the brand and you’ll be happy every time.

These pair amazingly well with coffee. I just french-pressed a light roast, brewed strong and served with a little cream. Especially after the first third, the interplay was lovely.

I’d say the V Melanio is 1, followed by the Series O, then the V. I also love the Connecticut for a midday or morning smoke. Oliva makes some damn good sticks. I even like the petite G for a quick after lunch puff.

The Oliva Melanio is in my top 5 cigars every (I smoke a lot of cigars). Im no expert but there there is a difference in the smoothness of the smoke. The melanio is more complex as well. There is a silkiness to the melanio that the v doesnt have. Both great cigars! MY personal raiting Melanio 94/100 Serie v 89/90 out of 100. ****If you like either of these you have to try the foundation tabernacle. My #1 Cigar. Pricey.....but let me know what you think Rock on \m/

Cigar Page has Oliva V Perfecto's you can't get anywhere else, it's an exclusive just for them. They are not the 135th Anniversary Limitada, so don't get them confused. Nice cigars.

I realize this video is a year old, and I'm late to the game, but I recently discovered your channel and I really enjoy smoking the cigar you're smoking while watching your review. I was actually drinking a Coca Cola while smoking and thought it was funny when you pulled out a bottle of coke. I've found sweet sodas go with these dark full flavor cigars. Dr pepper goes good with a lighter bodied smoke. Great videos. Thanks!

Dude you ever considered reviewing a budget/mid range and that special occasion cigars (5$-10$+ 25$) and take them over 3 reviews each, one right out of the box, next with 6-9 months in a humidor and a year + , with your presenting sure would help with understanding acclimating and ageing cigars and what you get or lose. And great content always stay safe brother

Oliva has a ton of fans so they're definitely doing something right. I don't actually like most of their stuff though lol I dig all 4 V's, the OG, the OG Maduro, the Melanio, and Melanio Maduro, not sure I have a favorite caus it really depends on the mood. I like the Nub Dub even though I generally don't go for 60 RG, I dig the Cains ok but especially the Daytona (if I remember correctly), and that's about it. Not much for the Connecticut, O or G Natural or Maduro, not that they're bad they just aren't all that good to me personally. But I actively dislike the Gilberto Oliva Reserve, particularly the Sumatra wrapped one, but they all are bad to me and I'd take any of their Flor de Oliva over them any day of the week. Speaking of which, the Flor de Oliva is a decent budget stick from what I remember, especially the Maduro, then I think the Corojo, then the CT, then the Sumatra. I have a few of the Saison in Natural and Maduro but I've yet to try em.

Try pairing with different fruit. I recall you asking how to get rid of 'gar mouth'...I tried this last night and it worked...eat a Granny Smith green apple after. It's not so sweet as to entrench the cigar flavour, has enough tart acid to remove it, and the texture acts like a scrub.

Why are you wearing sunglasses indoors?
@PickJimi
@PickJimi 2 жыл бұрын
You have no doubt spent the last few weeks reaching for your sunglasses every time the sun comes out, but do you know why wearing sunglasses is so important? It’s not just to shield your eyes from the bright light; there are also huge health benefits to wearing sunglasses. Whether you’re still counting down the days until your sunny holiday, or you’re going skiing in the winter season, your sunglasses are the best accessory you could pack. What’s more, with National Eye Health Week occurring next month, it’s a good time to know how to protect your vision all year round. Sunglasses are a helpful aid throughout the year, not just for the summer months! After all, even in the depths of winter, the sun can still shine brightly. Especially over the next couple of months where you’ll face a low sun on the morning and evening commute. Low setting sun creates uncomfortable vision UV levels may not be as high in the winter but the sun can still have a detrimental effect on your eye health over time. WHY DO I NEED TO WEAR SUNGLASSES? On days where you have forgotten your sunglasses, you probably spend most of the time squinting while trying to see in the bright light; it can be very frustrating! Protecting your eyes from the sun will not only prevent this from happening, but can also help to reduce your risk of eye diseases such as cataracts and Age-related macular degeneration(1). This is because too much exposure to UVA and UVB rays can put your eye health at risk(2). It’s important to invest in the right pair of sunglasses for your visual needs. There are a number of different types of sun lenses, including polarised, tinted and mirrored sunglasses all with different benefits and styles. HOW DO SUNGLASSES PROTECT YOUR VISION? Sunglasses don’t just shield your eyes from bright light to make you see easier. They are important tools for blocking UV rays and preventing them from reaching your eyes. Different types of sun lenses have varying benefits to suit your individual needs when it comes to sun protection for your eyes. Polarised lenses are able to offer maximum protection against glare and UV light. Glare can be a problem all year round, with light bouncing off of flat surfaces such as roads, water, snow or ice. This can be incredibly dangerous if you are driving, or trying to ski down a mountain! Blinding glare can affect your visual clarity and comfort If you are often bothered by glare, it’s likely that you will experience it in winter as well as summer. It can be handy to have a pair of polarised lenses to hand for when the sun strikes. This type of lens will block out horizontal light that is reflected off of flat surfaces, therefore eliminating blinding glare. Xperio Polarised glasses have the highest level of UV protection in our range of lenses(3). Tinted lenses are a stylish and effective way to protect your eyes from the sun. You can even have a graduated tint making your lenses practical and fashionable, with a dark tint at the top that gets increasingly lighter towards the bottom portion of the lens. Tinted lenses can help to restore natural colour perception, improving your vision while protecting your eyes from UV light. Graduated tints create a fashionable look Choose from a range of colours like brown, grey, grey/green or burgundy for a pair of sun lenses that provide comfortable, protected vision while looking fashionable. They work by muting the brightness of the sun while maintaining clarity and contrast. Add a mirror finish for a striking look. E-Mirror UV can be applied with Xperio Polarised and Essicolour tints so you can benefit from either eliminating blinding glare or glare reduction while upping your fashion game. HOW DANGEROUS IS UV LIGHT FOR YOUR VISION? UV exposure can differ depending on your location, environment and time of day or year. For instance, UV exposure is greater the closer you are to the equator, and it is greater when the sun is high in the sky; usually between 10am-2pm. UV exposure occurs more in wide open spaces, and particularly around highly reflective surfaces. Did you know that your UV exposure could double if the UV rays are reflected off snow? Even with low UV levels at 2 or less, it is still recommended that you wear sunglasses if you are out in the bright light. Overexposure can result in eye health issues that could have been prevented if the right measures had been taken; just as if you went out in the sun but didn’t put sun cream on.
