Suggestion for the Peach Whiskey Smash: mint first, granulated sugar next. Then, cut the lemon short-way, then quarter each half. Put them in skin side down. Add your peach slices, then muddle. The sugar will abrade the lemon peel and release more oil. You'll need a longer shake, but it should be even brighter.

I made that Morgenthaler Blended Negroni recently and ohhh man, it's so good. Probably the best possible translation of a Negroni to a slushie format. He technically uses rich syrup, so I did 1 oz of 1:1 and 2 oz of orange juice for my "juice of one orange." Definitely sweet, but you need that for blended drinks, as he explains on his website.

To be fair the Pussers rum in a painkiller actually does make the drink since it has such a special flavour profile. Much like the Goslings also makes a difference in a dark & stormy. But to trademark the names is just silly.
@nevadanate49572 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's the thing, I don't even know if Pusser's is the best rum for a painkiller, but you need something with a lot of character and that's a good example of one...

Try it with 1.5 oz Lemon Hart or Hamilton 151 instead of the normal 2-4 of Pusser's. Infinitely better

Hey Leandro, I have a question please? I’m designing a cocktail (old fashioned variation) that uses peach bitters. I’ve spotted that there seem to be two main peach bitters available, bitter truth and fees. Do you have any strong recommendations for either one, (is one noticeably just better) or would you recommend getting both and seeing how they play in the drink? Thanks, Sam
@TheEducatedBarfly2 жыл бұрын
I like fees a lot. Can’t say which because I haven’t had the bitter truth so looks like you’re gonna have to test it :) it’s better to do side by side comparisons when making a cocktail anyway because there might be one you like better on it’s own but isn’t as good in the cocktail as the one you don’t prefer

It would be really nice if you would include ice amounts to the recipes of your tiki/blended drinks where the amount can make such a difference in the end product.
@nevadanate49572 жыл бұрын
To be fair if it's just on crushed ice then you can do it visually like he does, but I agree blended drinks need precision about that.

Though a common guideline is, you should aim for twice as much ice as the volume of ingredients in the blender.

Just a little clarification for you and your subscribers. “Virgin Islands Rum” is made on the island of St.Croix, which is a territory of the United States 🇺🇸, specifically/only. I'm not muddling at a party sorry... everytime I go to a party with drinks, 6-9 people want a drink at the same time. I'm not trying to clock in when I go over to a friend's house. I'd like to see how you'd batch these so it'd be EASY to make 10 drinks at once. what happened to super juice?
@nevadanate49572 жыл бұрын
I mean, you can't make "super juice" out of muddled ingredients, but it's not really rocket science. Take the proportions he made in one glass and make a whole pitcher of it at once, like 4-6x all of the measurements.
@thewerepyreking2 жыл бұрын
I muddle at parties. I also make them 2 at a time in shakers, but I don't work as a bartender so I don't care if I'm spending time doing it, so I guess listen to what Nathan Turner said
@MrAshtonK2 жыл бұрын
@@nevadanate4957 super juice is oleo citrate with fresh juice added... Not sure what you think super juice is. Thanks for the amazing recipe advice! What I wanted to see was him make a peach mint syrup, add a bottle of whiskey and a certain amount of juice and bottle it up. Pour on rocks and boom... 10 cocktails.
@nevadanate49572 жыл бұрын
@@MrAshtonK I mean you brought up super juice, I assume you thought that was related to batching muddled ingredients? You could probably figure out a peach syrup but I've heard mint syrup is tricky and a lot of people seem to avoid relying on it.
