The only move that will be done is moving Dennis before because we can't resign him to the deal we want. The Celtics needs to get a playmaking floor general like Ricky Rubio or LeVert (In his Nets days). They need a 7'0 defensive rebounding big like Myles Turner (or they can get Sabonis to have even more playmaking). Rob is a rim protector but he doesn't have the height to fight for rebounds against Giannis or Embiid They need more vets on the bench if they move on from Horford and/or Richardson to fill in positions we don't already have instead of benching rookies for vets (look at Payton and Dennis). and most importantly.... STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM BEAL BECAUSE HE DOESN'T SOLVE ANY OF THE CELTICS CURRENT PROBLEMS!!!

@01BLSP4Y3 жыл бұрын
Well this season in my mind was never gonna be a great one, it was kind of just a reset season for them to be able to free up some salary sooner through the Kemba Horford trade. That's ultimately what's been stopping them the last couple seasons, is that you simply can't have someone taking up a max salary and not playing like a max player, who doesn't complement your best players, is a defensive liability, and doesn't really playmake either. But next offseason they can get off of Horford's money, trade smart, and you'll be looking at a potentially very different roster more suited to the Jays. But for the most part this team hasn't added much talent the last 3 years, they've just slowly been losing talent and depth from the Kyrie/Hayward years. Get them a real playmaker and solid stretch 4 and they'll be alright.

I’m a Celtics fan, I don’t understand the delusion around Tatum and brown. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. They don’t play well together. They’re empty stats guys, like AD, Westbrook or KAT. Don’t impact the game but finish with 25 points. Stop getting obsessed with potential, when players show you who they are believe them. With the exception of one playoff run in 2018 they have underperformed every year after.

@@hahahahaflyer I agree they need a true point guard to dictate the offense, but I don’t trust them to trust that point guard. They will play the right way for 3 quarters, great ball movement unselfish. But when the game gets late, they go into iso ball(especially Tatum) and kill the flow of the offense. This idea that they suck because the people around them suck isn’t true, because I’ve seen stretches of play where the ball is moving and we’re playing great. When we start to play bad, it isn’t because our role players start missing shots. It’s when our role players don’t even touch the ball because Tatum and brown decide they won’t pass. To be honest we needa hope to get one of those mid first round picks or high lottery than turns into a third star as a pg. Celtics should draft Dyson Daniels Aussie PG who’s a good defender, versatile, playmaker, and a bloke who always makes the right plays
@georgebrowniii38503 жыл бұрын
honestly I agree don't move jb or jt yet because they haven't tried everything to make it work yet. But if one were to get traded, Bradley Beal for Jaylen Brown would be cool asf coming from someone from maryland. Plus I'm pretty sure beal and tatum are already close so I think it would be a good fit
@ryanhutton5953 жыл бұрын
Jayson Tatum and jaylen brown bottom line have been bad this year. Celtics came into the season thinking these guys would take another leap but both their efficiency and stats have gone down.
@brandoni2413 жыл бұрын
It seems the Celtics need to change the others. Because Tatum and Brown are 2 players that are hard to come buy. They need a point guard, they need more consistent 3 point shooting, better interior defenders, and all that can be easily gotten. 2 special players are hard to replace...
@illDefine13 жыл бұрын
The way Tatum and Jaylen are playing this year, they aren't that hard to replace. Players like Siakam and Jerami Grant are putting up more efficient numbers as number 1 options (on slightly lower usage) and they're constantly in trade rumors.
@brandoni2413 жыл бұрын
@@illDefine1 well in Grant's case, the Pistons are rebuilding and they want young players and/or picks. And Grant and Siakam are like 28 years old, they're vets. They are what they are at this point. Plus, Tatum and Brown average more points than both of them. Jerami Grant is a number 1 option with 20 ppg, 41 % from the field. He sharing the spotlight Cunningham who still isn't really taking command of team. Tatum is 23 and Brown is 25, they're still pretty young. This issue with Boston is they overachieved a couple of seasons and people started having expectations. The only way I would trade one of them is if I got a similar player of value in return....
@illDefine13 жыл бұрын
@@brandoni241 I agree with most of what you said but the scoring is only higher from higher number of shots. Jason Tatum shouldn't have any all-star consideration shooting 40% even if he averages 30, particularly if it's not conducive to winning. I realize popular opinion emphasizes scoring regardless of efficiency... but, as you can see, Beal is not an all-star when he plays within a team system instead of jacking 20+ shots per game.

I’m a certified Celtics hater, but I can’t deny that both Js are potential superstar players and the fact is that when teams trade away superstars, especially young superstars, they almost always lose the trade. To win the title you need to have stars and Boston have them. The role players and the fringe guys can be found in trades, buyouts and mid level free agents. Try it out with a real point guard, maybe they could get like Jaylen Brunson or Ricky Rubio. The Celtics have time, they’re young, don’t panic when you have two young superstars because superstars win games.

The Celtics with Tatum and brown is scary. Not in a good way. If things don’t change they’re going to be the blazers of the east. Two star talents that make a lot of money so you never have enough to fill out the roster properly, never bad enough for a high draft pick, but not good enough to be a top team. I say give this duo one more year and if things don’t change than time for a trade. Ainge had so many chances to capitalize off those assets he was sitting on but thought too highly of some of his own players that are gone now. Basically let rozier, Hayward, horford go for nothing.
@karimw.99543 жыл бұрын
The Celtics need a legitimate primary playmaker to organize their offense. And a versatile 4 that pushes Jayson Tatum to his natural position at the 3. Ricky Rubio or someone of that mold would be great as their lead guard with a low usage 4 that can defend the perimeter and act as a help defender at the rim, ie Jarred Vanderbilt. No need to move JB or JT. Look at the Chicago Bulls as a template.

Tatum is not an efficient scorer/shooter. The only year he was above league average in EFG was his rookie season. This year he is well below the average. Brown has been just above league average the last 5 seasons. Efficient scoring is so important in his league. Couple them with Smart, Schroeder and Horford who are also below (the first 2 well below) league average efficiency (Celts are 20th in NBA in offensive efficiency and 24th in EFG%) for the season and you have a recipe for a middling team unless the team is elite defensively which they are not The Celtics need more efficient scoring. I'm sure they can increase their efficiency if they buy into a different offensive system that passes up good shots for great ones and moves the ball. Too much isolation offense on this team.

No just no, Dragic is 36 making 18 million, he is a negative asset and more than likely a buyout candidate. You do not trade one of the best defenders in the NBA for a guy about thats about to retire in 4 months.

Personally, I want t blow it all up and start over. As you said, they play an ugly brand of basketball. Individually, both excellent players, as a roster ..this isn't working. It is time trade and get different players in and better passing, floor spacing, perimeter shooting...which they need. Don't be stubborn and hold onto them until it gets ugly like the situation got in Philly. Get some good players, good assets back, let the team tank a little so the draft pick will be a couple of spots better in the draft, move on and get some expiring deals for players who you want gone. Take a step back for this year and next and be ready to strike with big free agency deals in the 2023 off season. The Celtics are a historic franchise in a historic city. A very large market with great restaurants, hospitals and a lot to do both in season and in the off season. So if the front office can't use that to attract star players, then I don't know what would. This is a team with a ton of championship banners and hall of Fame players. If the front office can't sell a player on this...what are they doing?
@Htiy3 жыл бұрын
Yes. It’s a win now NBA, there are like 4-5 tanking teams total. In 5-6 years, those teams as well as young good teams (Charlotte, Cleveland, Toronto, Memphis, etc) will be dominating the NBA as stars age
