Many of these people have held positions as professional politicians in Federal government over 4-5 decades! Joe Biden has been on the US Federal payroll since 1972 at age 29; today he is age 80. Biden's net worth is estimated at $9 Million---pretty substantial for a lowly public servant! Considering the chaos in the current Administration since Biden took office in 2021, our citizens are in desperate need of new leadership. When you have been living in an Ivory Tower for 30-40 years, it is impossible to comprehend what taxpayers are experiencing in the 21st Century on a day-to-day basis.

Because of the system. You don't write in a name of who you think should be elected, you select between one of two options. The political parties control primaries thus they decide who will be on the ballot. Hence you can have atrocious approval ratings and consistent re-elections. You really think that people want the politicians in place because "Well they voted for them...", that is cartoonish-ly naïve Your head must be so warm and safe under all that sand....

The public is not qualified to decide whether someone is medically , emotionally or physically fit or competent . People in government , judges and lawyers and doctors and therapists ,teachers , professors etc should ALL have to take yearly evaluations proving they are capable of doing their job properly . The testing should be the same and done by the same facilities regardless of what your political beliefs are .

There is too much wisdom overlooked particularly of your forefathers when endured the writing of the constitution. Then over time you get these young upstarts who know everything anyway & want to set aside the original wisdom! After all it came from old men! It is not age, but the attitude and forthiture. Mental capacity is the limitation & I see that lacking in the younger representatives than the older. If a representative is elected, it is by his\her capabilities desired by the electrate.
