It always illustrates how uninformed the people who say the Supreme Court outlawed abortions by reversing Roe vs. Wade. All they did was correct a 50 year error by sending the decision back to each individual state as it should be. According to the constitution the federal government really has little power outside trade and a national defense, anything not explicitly assigned as a federal power is automatically sent back to the states.

The purpose of the Supreme Court is to rule based on Constitutional Law. If you don't like the ruling, then let your House Rep or Senator know and they can put forth legislation to change the law. The Supreme court DOES NOT EXIST to have high public opinion. The laws of the nation CAN NOT be based on the social landscape of the time period and social acceptance of the nations people. The Supreme court DOES EXIST to interpret the laws of our land. That folks like or dislike what the Supreme Court does (usually in the case of Abortion) is of little importance. The reason the Court is a Right leaning court now is because of the refusal of the Left leaning Justices that stayed on the court until they were on their deathbeds and not retiring when it was prudent to do so and unfortunately they died while there was a Conservative President. As an independent (former Democrat), too bad. The system is what it is and it works and there is no realistic way to change the system and no reason for the change other than to try to "win". There is also no reason for it, the law is the law and those are the breaks.

@jonathanjones312610 күн бұрын
@AlanHinson it is well known how fast people degrade past that point. Currently quite a few politicians are way to old to the point where they should have been forced out decades ago. @AlanHinson10 күн бұрын
@@jonathanjones3126 I don’t believe in turnover like that, 5 years is way too short. I mean think about the presidency, how much do presidents really accomplish in their first term? Bc most presidents come in and get whatever was given to them, it’s not till years 3-4 where you see some change. But usually you don’t get the full effects of a presidents policies until their second term (if they get one). Which is why I think every president should get one 8 year term.

@shamrock14117 күн бұрын
The Supreme Court being a lifetime appointment was an abysmal decision, in terms of anti-corruption protections that's one of the worst things you can do because once a justice is appointed there's no big reason why he/she should give a damn about the consequences, which makes it far easier to buy them out

The foreign policy that the Democrat party has is going to lead to high military spending, in spite of that, our home border and coastline force is going to be weaker because of Kamala’s global military focus. The world is multipolar which means we can no longer dominate as the only superpower for various reasons. The most viable approach is to form stronger alliances which lends itself to a Trump style foreign policy in which diplomacy is first without sacrificing a very strong military capability. Kamala Harris isnt able to be the type to project her presence to lets say North Korea. Its nothing on her but its more to do with ability to have adversaries respect but also befriending them. Saying that, the peace with a strong military is how you achieve greater stability in the middle east. Diplomacy and a strategy is very important due to the need to have dialogue. This is the path to peace in the middle east. We are in a new era and we do not think “turning the page” has anything to do with addressing this era. Its just another way of saying we are doing the same thing differently. We cant have that. Its very important that we have a Trump doctrine otherwise we will have nuclear wars. The two areas that should have never been hotspots are the Levant area and Ukraine. Both are expected to expand- this statement is extremely dangerous and should be underlined in bold
