Quick tip for the kitties!! With my experiance in semi feral or feral kitties, the most important thing you can do for them is make a "recall". Basically whenever you are going to feed them, make a certain sound (I just use "here kitty kitty kitty!") so that when they are released, you can easily call them or let them know you have food! Also makes peace of mind knowing that in a dangerous situation you can get them to you quick! The longer you do it, the faster they get!!
@bluebird461416 күн бұрын
This. We take care of some feral cats in my locality and one other thing that also works with them is a consistent time. I don't know how they all arrive at the exact time when we usually feed them

The feral cats watch through the glass door in the sunroom out to the handicaps metal ramp. I toss food on the ramp. I go from 2-3 to a least 10. They look like a herd running across the yards

Now that your kids have moved out for college you won't need as much space as you used to, and you'd be closer to family, not to mention the cooler weather. Yes i think y'all would have a better place and land for your goats. Kevin as an engineer can fix everything just like you want and the kids would love to visit. Plus out there you're not in a residential neighborhood like you are now so your loud goats won't be a nuisance 😂. Consider that prospect and explore the environment up there especially with Kevin's expertise and do what's best for your farm life. Cooler, more outdoorsy and space to expand outdoors you can study that next year. Full impact study of land vs work and Kevin can look for more junk to make that happen 😂. Ingenuity, you got a good one Danelle. Blessings ❤

If I may say, do not let those kitty's out till they become more comfortable with the surroundings and sound of the farm. They aren't adjusted if they just hide in their house. Wait till they will cone out and sit and watch for most of the day, or you may loose them. They'll be too scared of things and just run. It may take a few months but it will be worth it. And try to socialize them. They can tell if your afraid of them so don't be.

Maybe try to close up the cat enclosure walls on two adjacent sides up until chest height with wooden boards (or something similar, but non-see through)? Or move it to a position where a solid wall is at least on one side. Our cats always preferred to come out when keeping out of reach of new things with a wall at their back was an option, so they could focus without possible interference from behind them.
