Photographers often stop short of real business success. I think if she kept it up for another 2 years she would make it. And if you can’t stick with your business for 3 years how do you expect to be successful?

Daniel Iles Some stick with it for over 3+ years and they still don’t make it. Don’t assume all entrepreneur jobs will work out with patience and determination. That’s a subjective pipe dream.

What kind of degree only allows someone to get $22k/yr job? She either doesn't have a useful degree or isn't using hers to its full extent

She didn't know her husbands debt 3 1/2 years into her marriage and justified not knowing because her husband's parents promised to pay for it? What if his parents for whatever reason goes bankrupt? It can easily happen. One of them falls sick or gets cancer and I seriously doubt they would be in the position to pay.

Seems like they have underlying issues if they separate there debt from one another. It's your debt regardless of the spouse who spilled the milk, fix it.

I’d be interested to know what her pricing is like for her photography. She is either being too selective over clients, not marketing herself enough or her pricing is extremely low which is undercutting other photographers and not valuing her own work. Jack up the prices. Take on more sessions other than weddings and she could be making a ton more.

If the parents are paying the student debt payments then let them. They are eating the interest payments themselves. Just be wise to invest at least the minimum loan payment each month yourself so that when the parents stop paying you can quickly pay down the debt with your saved contributions. You pay less either way.

How does 2 full time working adults only make $55k combined? That's $14/h each... Teenagers can earn that much, time to move on up. Easily has room to get their household income over $100k. Working at Starbucks earns you more than 55k on two full times income...

Its not overrated, everyone on this planet depends on entrepreneurs, so if it was overrated, no one would have a dime in their pocket. And yes, government jobs get paid from taxes from businesses and workers (working in business)
