No, it’s not transphobic to not want to date a trans person, dating is exclusionary by design and folk exclude others for all sorts of reasons. So no, it’s not transphobic, but all trans folk ask is that you remain respectful when turning them down if they ask you out, as there’s no need to be rude. Also as a general note, can we not call it “genital preference”, preference implies it’s a choice, when really it’s folks sexuality. Sexuality is innate and not something you can change.

It's the same thing as not being attracted to the same gender if you're straight. The lack of attraction is deeper than physical appearance. I think if I was talking to someone and found out they were trans I wouldn’t talk to them. It’s not that I’m transphobic, it’s just that I’m not attracted towards trans people. I think it’s weird as a fully straight male to talk/date someone who used to be a male (wether they went through a genital swap or not). It’s not that I have a problem with trans people. Here’s a question I have, how come the definition of phobia changes once it refers to transgenders? Phobia means an irrational fear of something, but if you simply prefer something over another, and this case a transgender and willing to not date them, it’s a phobic? I recomend you stop getting into those arguments for two reasons, You can't change a brainwashed person's mind because they have grown up thinking that certain things are offensive. Secondly, people will ostrasize you for having an opinion that differs from theirs and is considered hate speech, these people can even cause physical harm to you and others will view it as good people ganging up on one bad person and think they're doing something good by stopping you from being able to speak about what you think.

This is a very niche scenario, and I have nothing against trasgender or lgbtq+ people. But, my preference is to be with people of my opposite gender (females). So, I think that I might still love them, but more in a friendly kind of way, and not a sexual one. This is a good question, though, and I would like to see how others respond.

In my opinion I'd say that never wanting to date a trans person is different than hating transgender people, not only for the sake of which genitals are involved, but also just because at the end of the day there is a difference between someone who was born into a biological sex, and someone who had gender-affirming surgery. "This isn't to insult or deride anyone or their personal choices, but for people who are simply just only attracted to the opposite biological sex, than the knowledge that a potential partner was born with the same biological sex, but was reshaped to be the other one still registers for many straight people as being different, especially if you wanted to have children. Preferences like these don't change because you want them to. If they "Change" it's really because you didn't quite have the preferences you thought you did in the first place.

Me, a trans person. It depends what biology someone has. Here's a great example of my friend. They say they're willing to date me specifically because I'm trans and am going to, one day, be a complete girl in every single way, mostly. But right now, I still have male biology. They're straight. They're willing to date me because they know I'll eventually be a girl. That's what a man would probably do. Date a trans person if they're fully transitioned. But, a hole's a hole, you can't argue that.

Technically you will always have male biology because your sex is male, you didnt form female reproductive organs and thankfully cant have periods, your gender is female however and you are a girl in that respect, surgery or not. However its also perfectly ok for someone to only want cis women. That's how I see it anyway, and I wish you luck not only with your full transition but with your new relationship.

Even if you don't date someone because they're trans, with the genitals you prefer and all, it's not transphobic. You reserve the right to be picky with who you date, literally everyone else does. No one should be able to peer pressure you into a sexual activity or preference that you don't feel comfortable with, in the name of progressiveness or Political Correctness. It's not really just a body kit. It's more like changing the motor, reshaping the chassis, it's like changing pretty much everything about it. (I don't know much about cars) If you said that you would never like a tuned honda Civic that looked, sounded, and performed just like a Bugatti, you would probably be lying.
