This is a great video, I remember Mac Miller saying "doing drugs is a war with boredom" and often found that true when I had issues with alcohol in life. Best wishes in the future

This actually entered my recommended feed. I struggled with other addictions that weren't drugs, and any form of dependency just completely ruins you as a person. I'm really happy to see that you've become sober and I hope that people see this video and it inspires them to stay on the right path. Keep on goin man, congrats for getting over this.

Same. Started in high school and was chasing after every drug I was able to get my hands on and drinking blackout every chance I had. I will never be mentally/psychology the same again. Had instances of psychosis/severe paranoia that never reversed. I still slip into delusions where I think someone is trying to get me.. sick and tired of this man lol. 29 now and won’t even touch the junk now even with a 10 foot pole. Not even weed which I used to love so much. Now when I smoke it I am just paranoid for the life of me. Stay stafe

Thank you for sharing, I've had similar issues and this really made me feel less alone in my struggles. I will get sick now for days at a time.. I feel like the hardest part about sobriety is actually finding something that is worth it enough to give up the things you know aren't serving you such as drugs. I wish you all the best.

I'm a recovering drug addict (8 months clean from oxycodone which was my biggest problem, 1 month clean from benzos). I've had a suicide attempt at the beginning of 2024, my depression is nearly gone thankfully to meds but unfortunely I still have those episodes of really bad cravings but I know that they'll pass The best advice I would give to addicts is: find a new hobby, start exercising. I wish you the best man and don't give up!

had a similar problem, last work I had was in 2016. (coudn't work do to psychosis from drug use).Couldn't leave the house for years... Was only able to get a good treatment now in 2023 and I'm much better, it's really a struggle.. I'm clean from illicit drugs but still drink alcohol on the weekends. I'm 30 years old now still live with my mom, btw people have similar issues from all over the world... I'm from Brazil.... Peace out brother and take care.

hey man, I relate to your situation a lot bro. we both had the exact same experience, starting with molly and tabs and weed then progressing into dw drugs and stuff because of an intense curiosity about them, i tried almost every single drug possible (100+) but benzos ruined my life man. much love bro
@Squang.11 күн бұрын
True. Benzos have by far had the worst impact on me of the 50+ different drugs i've tried. Got horribly dependent for 1 year, no other drug came close to the high I thought I was getting from benzos. The withdrawal was hell, even after a year long taper it took 2 years to feel mostly normal. I don't think i will ever feel the same.

I’m no scientist but I can contest to the fact that marijuana will not cause psychosis and could only make you symptomatic if you have a genetic predisposition. Loved the video though! Good luck man.

@@joeygarton7758 since I have no family history of psychosis, it is really strange to me that it happened. I certainly believe it would not have emerged if I didn’t use marijuana daily for over a year. Maybe the predisposition was there, but it likely never would have surfaced without the drug use.

@cykablyat9333 the problem with addiction is it takes your sobriety. The key I've found is experiencing altered states of mind whilst being happy and comfortable sober. Sure, I could be sober always and that would be better but i just get such a kick from feeling different. Drugs + deppression = addiction Drugs + happiness = moderation

I have a friend that, a lot like you, started out casually and it developed into an addiction. The biggest difference is he uses religion to cope with his addition, stating weed is made by god and that drugs are the gateway to heaven without actually dying. He’s past his party years and can’t hold a job and lost his marriage due to the drugs. All he does anymore is live in his old families house and smokes vapes and weed pens and talk about his twisted religious views. When he’s not doing that, his brother is supplying him with LSD, Shrooms, or some random pill that I’m sure is worse than the above. He deadass can’t go more than an hour without some mind altering substance in his lungs. We were driving to McDonalds in my newly bought car when I caught him sneaking a smoke cause the McDonalds was 15 minutes away. I lost it, and yelled at him, telling him his addiction is ruining his life and he needs to sober up. I don’t come across as very intimidating so he laughed it off but then I could tell he had a bit of realization right after. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to be enough, as he still smokes like crazy and refuses to believe logic that smoking IS bad for you! I don’t know what to do anymore except just stop talking to him. Sorry if my comment came across as a rant, but it’s super refreshing to see someone get out of that life. I hope my friend has the same ending as you and becomes a cool person. 🙂

I resonate so much with this story. I'm about the same age as you are and have spent about the last 4 years living in Medellin, Colombia. My first years here I fell heavily into opioids, ketamine, cocaine, benzos, and alcohol. At this point I'm done with all of that because it's just not worth it. Never been to the psych ward, but have had plenty of health scares as a result of that drug use. Like you said, fun when you're younger and then it quickly turns into a monkey on your back.
@majav15mg6 күн бұрын
You’re using the blank term “drug” in the same way it’s been done for years. I feel for your pain and I particularly understand your weed story… but ending up consuming a stimulant and a depressant at the same time…? That’s brutal. You’re lumping very different substances into the same group. And as always with this mentality, plenty of other harmful drugs like alcohol are often left unmentioned here. I wish you the best. You may have a particular predisposition towards psychosis.
@traecrabtree49202 күн бұрын
this is what happens when you are raised in a very strict or traumatic household, or your autistic and have sensory seeking tendencies.. weed def wont make you curious about other drugs, its your brain escaping trauma and thrill... but you def dont get psychosis from cannabis.. you just dont.. anxiety is induced by certain terps/cannabanoids.. if you arent good at handling anxiety try a different terp profile. i got addicted to opiates without cannabis.. 3x rehab drop out before i got clean, now im 10 years removed from any type of opiate/chemical.
