Is it worth Farming Gold Now Before Cataclysm Classic

Its almost time! I am so ready for Cataclysm, but I'm not going to be farming further gold or playing the Auction House this weekend, here is why!

Do you have an example of the Elemental shaman boost? I havent seen anything on it, I see the usual tanks doing HOS/HOL but have never heard of that one.

Hey sorry for the delay! In Old Kingdom, as you go in, you clear the first groups and on the left there is a ledge. You position your boostees on the ledge and from that point they can get experience without moving. As an ele shaman, you are literally just spamming chain lightening and running through the dungeon as fast as you can. It was slightly slower levelling than HOS/HOL but not by much for 2 alts. And if you don't have a tank to hand, its a great alternative.

Hey, I will pop my groups in the Discord chat later on, I have glyphs already in there (though glyphs are a bit dodgy as there are so many the group is too long for Discord!). Depending which features won't work though you might need to visit www.tradeskillmaster.com/ and register to get the Desktop helper to give you current pricing data.

I just started playing again on my old classic level 60 character. Currently just leveling but i also want some gold to afford bigger bags and flying, but not really sure what to do in order to afford this. I'm horde on Firemaw which is 98% alliance dominated, so can't really use the AH to much either :/

Ah being horde on Firemaw must be really hard. They opened transfers up briefly for Horde characters on Firemaw to go to Gehannas indirectly, so I bet there isn't many of you left at all. Unless you already have people to play with I'd really consider starting again on Alliance, or on Gehannas Horde. You'll be behind for launch, but at least when you catch up you will have plenty of options to play the game! If you want to stay put though, maybe go with skinning and herbalism just to grind out some gold. Even a small population should have a market for trade goods.

@@Seren-wow Yeah, there are some horde on Firemaw but i think i would rather play on a server with a bigger community and more thriving AH. I guess i am kinda forced to spend money to character transfer/faction change to keep playing on my characters or start fresh on a whole new server. How is leveling a new alt in Wrath/cata?

It isn't bad, they sped up 60-80, and random dungeon finder is pretty good now with the better reward and the quests all being at the entrance.

I honestly would have sworn they announced MOP Classic at Blizzcon, though everyone keeps saying I'm wrong & they didn't. One day I will rewatch it to show everyone! But otherwise, I just don't see why they wouldn't do it, MOP was pretty good. It was after Legion things started to go really downhill. Though I don't think WOD was that well received either. Maybe they will stick to the one year time lines, zoom through then after Legion start again.

Ive got two years of game time saved up because im trying to fight gold inflation. Ran out of things to buy so now im trading classic gold for retail gold.

Thats a pretty good move, I usually buy 6 months tokens a time but I always regret not going further when it expires!
