I just did my defender and woof the rear alone took me 2.5 hrs. I did the ueah racing axle housing, new portal gears swapped every bearing, mip hd center driveshafts, and mip 4mm extended axles. On top of the brass portal housing i already put in. This thing is looking sick imo

That’s a lot of grease. I guess if you enjoy submerging it a lot it’s ok, but that’ll generate a lot of excess heat and wear out gears and bearings more quickly

I use marine grease in my axles on my SCX10/VS410 as well little tip if you are going into mud or water a quick coat of WD40 on everything keeps mud & snow from sticking and makes cleanup a little easier a coat after cleanup helps with the oxidation issue as well. 🍺😎👍🏽

I have some other bigger tyres that I normally use but for some random reason I had the stock rubber on for that video. That said I will be upgrading the tyre and the motor soon.

@@prophetate If you are taking it in the sea or underwater it will keep all the gears dry but it adds friction to the drive line so you need a more powerful motor.

I can’t remember now but I think the front is the same or a little over on the front. I also need to rebuild the truck again as I put way too much marine gunk in the axles but it has been to the beach and sea a few times since then. It has an extremely hard life my TRX4

I would suggest just put some marine grease where water can get in. Just to repel water. Less is more.

Yep went way OTT LOL The TRX4 has had a hard life and now needs a full rebuild. I can sort out the axels. It has been in the sea a few times and we know how that goes 😱
