Funny, I was just mixing my first song proper in Luna. You are right, there are quite a few niggles. I was doing track selection different to you. I was selecting multiple tracks from the tracks pane which I had showing on the left. When I did this, and selected an output on one, it applied to all. So I think they have a bug in the selection method you were using. You are right about the output for the main. You'd think it's an easy fix right? At least right now, it's possible to create cue mixes by directing sends to a bus, with its output set to 3/4, 5/6 etc. Obviously this DAW is immature in many regards, but I'm hopeful they'll get there!

Thanks Mike for the comment. I’m sure over time they will correct or fix the issues. They have to reduce the number of clicks to do a task.

I guess you can change the main output on the io matrix just like you would on the apollo console.

Great video Sir, maybe I will try it again because I have tried it the first time but I couldn't get through to my interface io, with several days attempts and installing and un-installed but couldn't work and I gave up on it. Thanks for this video.

FOR ANYONE WITH THE SELECTION ISSUE!!!! Luna allows CUE OUTPUTS in the control room section but I don't see it in yours. I am guessing that is currently only possible for apollo users :( (There might be a way to do it that I don't know yet for your interface) For the selection issue, close that output window on the left side and you should see the tracks and groups window. Make sure GROUPS is turned on in the lower section, and SELECTION GROUP is also turned on (yellow colour).

I’ve ran into issues getting Luna to open on Windows 10 last week. I solved it, this was due to a VST3 plugin not cooperating with the Luna landscape. I was able to track it down by looking at the crash logs. Then I moved that VST to a separate folder. No issues ever since. I forgot to mention, I also had to update my bios and follow the windows optimizing tutorial on UAD’s website. I am able to see my MIDI controllers. I have not hooked up my Tascam Model 12 yet to see what if can use Mackie controls.

That’s good to know. I understand the software is still in beta version and I hope they will fix these issues. Model 12 in DAW mode doesn’t work with LUNA. I’ve tried with every option.

Why does the buffer affect the recording of an audio? With other daw I can also record at 2048 I turn off the monitor and the recording is good... with moon it sounds out of time... how come.

Does your audio interface have an input/playback option that you are using, such as the MOTU M2 and M4 have?

Luna only supports VST3, 64bit on Windows OS.

TBH. It's a good and easy DAW but having NO sample preview in 2024 within a browser is a big no go..

@@coldskoolbeatz I was just stating my opinion on it. If the DAW lets you work with midi and audio as a composing DAW it should have a sample preview. It's obvious not just for mixing.

Luna is great for mixing but falls short for composing. No multi VST, no hardware inserts, no sample preview, no (insert a million features here). More and more I'm simplifying my writing, so I can make Luna work, but I hate feeling like I'm compromising every time I use it. UA is a crappy company that happens to make good products. They really need to get off their ass with Luna and bring features that have been requested for years now, or just admit that it's not a priority for them so we can decide to move on or not.

You can not turn off the auto save it messes with your workflow.

True. This is something that a user should be able to turn off. You can always save bookmark, which is simply a snapshot of a version.

LUNA for Windows is in beta. Almost impossible to give an accurate review on a product that you already know is flawed.
