That price is laughable imo. If it’s true that it’s because of the license, then the license holder is greedy af. A level of greed that’s only going to grow. And I’m sure that’s part of the price point. But let’s be real… it’s also the studio producing them. They know that as they increase these prices, they’re still selling out. So yea, don’t blame them for pushing the envelope. This looks like a $100 item. Please don’t do it. You can get pieces 1000 times better for a fraction of this cost.

A symptom of the times. Prices are higher than ever. I'd struggle to justify a 1/10 piece for over 1k. Heck I find it hard paying 1k for a 1/4 piece.

I'd argue that scale is almost irrelevant to the price, it comes down to overall dimensions of the statue, detail, paint, and license that probably make up that price ... Having said that, 1k for this piece is a hard pill to swallow

Absolutely collectors should vote with there wallets. I was planning to purchase the PCS Chun-Li wedding dress statue until I saw the price. I just don't see the value, it's $150/200 over priced, IMO. That's were this hobby is going. Don't see the value, cant afford it, don't buy. We as collectors were justifying the prices with the sculpts improving, paint apps improving and the overall design and complexity improving but IMO I think we have hit a plateau. Statues have gotten to the point that they are about as good as there going to get but prices keep going.

Here's my take. At $799 you ultimately sell more to even fringe collectors of the genre. At over $1000 you close the doors to those fringe collectors.

Size wize, as someone astutely noticed, this could represent a 1/4 scale statue lying on its side. That being said, it lacks the details of most of the 1/4 scale statues that we're used to, AND it's still overpriced even if it had the details! A lot of people are stating a $750 price point or so would be reasonable, but in my mind, I would go even lower, a $500 price point. This way, it would be worth more than 3 of the $150 companion pieces, and still be a lot of money, but would more reflect what you're getting - a simplistic, awesome, sleek Batmobile without the details or base complexity of a usual 1/4 scale statue.

DC Collectibles made a huge btas batmobile which is bigger with lights and opening canopy and it's awesome. It was $100 bucks retail. Probably goes for a lot more now. I have lost all interest in Iron Studios products.

When I saw this the other day I thought it would make a great companion to their 89 piece considering Tim’s movies inspired the animated series; both statues together would look pretty nice on a shelf. I agree the Harley head sculpt needs some reworking, it’s not bad, but it’s not as good as the Joker or Batman. It is priced very high, but most collectibles are pricey these days. For a matter of fact everything is priced to high these days 😂. Overall it’s a really good piece. I would preorder it if not for the fact I already bought the DC Collectible version of the car, & the Diamond Select bust of Batman. Right now I believe those pieces will be enough representation of the show on my shelf, but tomorrow I could give a different answer 😅.

It’s beautiful;however, if it was priced like the 89 batmobile was $700 and I was able to get a 15% discount and free shipping so I pulled the trigger (no base or Batman character version). If this batmobile was priced the same; I would not hesitate to pick it up. $1,000 is entirely too much for a 1/10 scale with no lights or other gimmicks.

I agree with you on the price on both of the 1989 and BTAS Batmobiles at $1,000+ price tag is a bit high but like you said we have no idea what the licensing and productions fees that Iron Studios is paying. The figures at $150 is an okay price point and since I like them and have both the Joker and Harley Quinn statues preordered. Would I like to pay less? Well of course but I don't think the price is totally outrageous. I have the Iron Studios Dark Knight Deluxe Heath Ledger Joker statue in my collection and I have the soon to be released Deluxe Joker (Comic Version) statue with 3 head sculpts on preorder which should be releasing in June. I'm a fan of Iron Studios work and will continue to be so if I find the price high on some of their pieces I just don't buy them the same as I do with other collectables companies. I must admit I would buy this but I already bought two kotobukiya animated Batman’s that are on point and a DC animated Superman at those sizes. I’m addicted to the Animated Superman/Batman/Justice league series. Space is a problem for me so no more 1/4, 1/3 so.. looking at 1/10. Just bought the TMNT set by Iron studios. Might buy the 1/10 joker 🤔

In regards to the 1989 batmobile I think the lego version is much cooler and at a better price point and comparable in size. Also at the cheaper price it's easier to have all the different models of batmobile.

I've got the neca style animated series batmobile and plane and bought both for a hundred dollars each and they light up and look awesome. I also got the batcycle. Also lights up. I'm happy knowing that I saved alot of money on my items that honestly I think is better than this item.

Hey Chris, fantastic video as usual and I agree with you 100% re the figures and Batmobile price point. Regarding the Batmobile it might be a case of something that looks cool in a 2 dimensional animation does not have the same gravitas or connotations in ‘real world’ 3 dimensions. Unfortunately the animated series Batmobile seems to be an example of this. IMHO, it literally looks like a Batman themed Birthday Cake. But hey, again I agree with Chris. If you like it, go for it!

I agree it’s pricey. I would rather see it around a $700 price range, but when you look at it length wise which is almost 25 inches long, it’s equivalent to the height range of most 1/4 scale statues. Then the depth is almost 11 inches. It’s almost like a 1/4 scale statue lying sideways. I would still prefer them to knock off a few hundred though!

You made a lot of great points in this video. Nearly everything nowdays is overpriced, but sadly it stands out more with hobby/non-essential items. I've said for years how Iron Studios has been leading the path of overpricing in statues and this is another example. That said, I can also say that for years they've also produced great pieces due to awesome art direction and talented sculptors. You made a great point about tightening your belt and going more for quality over quantity along with picking up things that mean the most to YOU as a person/collector. I have also had to do the same thing and moving that much closer to being a spectator in this hobby than a participant. In a way that sucks, but on the other hand it's kinda freeing and I can focus more of my time, attention, and money on things that matter to me more (and that works especially now that we can start traveling again).

One of my favourite batmobiles. For that price it needs to have a detailed interior, moving parts, and a batman. I still have a AUD40 plastic model of the same batmobile from years ago that I display, and it still looks great.

But I can see good work here 1k worth mmmm if they did a Tumbler in Polly I would be all over it ... I would see the cost for the UK and try my best to order... this is how I became a Batman fan and it was the game, I bought the game with all the DLC just to drive the Tumbler after beating the times in the game, I went on to play the full game, I had the films and gave them a re watch Dark Knight Trilogy .... my love for Batman come's from the game and the 3 films would I buy outside this click prob not but never say never... the films are for me full stop Epic + Great Batman.. Is it priced too high? I think so it is to plain and basic of a batmobile to justify the cost. So it is not for me. I also thought the 89 batmobile was too high of a cost, and that is my favorite of all the batmobiles. As far as the batman animated series 1/10 statue I might look at that. But I agree the Harley face is not at good as the other two.

It's definitely not $1000 cool. If someone pays that for this then this company has hoodwinked you which means they win. In that I mean they will continue to ask asinine prices for pieces and that price will continually go up. The only way to stop greed like this is to just say NO! If you have the money and are a fanatic about this then fine, buy it. Just remember you are then part of the problem as you are enabling them. This piece is not worth the price tag. If there was a lot of details in the sculpt and the base I could still understand the price. But it's not even the case, the sculpt is even more simple and with less details than the 1989 batmobile. The license can't justify everything.

Overpriced. Seems like it prays on the emotional value of the pieces. The sculpt seems simple especially on the car. I bet your friend or most people could 3D print. You could easily model the car on blender or s brush and then 3D print it. Statues JND however, you can forget about ever sculpting those unless you are extremely talented or spend hundreds of hours on the craft.
