One thing I didn't mention in the video is that Variation, easily the best 4* support rectifier in the game, will also be rated up on Jiyan's weapon banner. That weapon, especially at R5, has potential to outperform Shorekeeper's signature in some teams. It doesn't get rated up very often, so it's a great bonus for pulling this weapon.

Jiyan is annoyingly powerful especially in AOE but even in single target there is not much competition yet, at worst he is only slightly weaker than the best team in the game Also quickswap double DPS Jiyan is legit and fun, Mortefi especially at C6+Standard 5* buff is insane so playing him in straight forward rotation will do just as good if not better in most cases but for people who want to have more fun and challenge as well as higher skill expression I find using him in double DPS team to be really fun and have similar clear time to his normal team

The point isn't that he's good or not, but for a 5 star he's outshined by Jinhshi because of her nuke damage or Changli with her consistent Forte damage, heck even Zhezhi as a 5 star support does alot. Jiyan has his ult, without it he's worse than havoc rover so I'm not sure. He relies too much on his ult for me to call him super strong.

I’ve had a hate-love relationship with this man. I pulled his banner only for chixia copies in 1.0 and his weapon for Calcharo. Despite having R1S1 and R6 Mortefi, didn’t like that I couldn’t see past his dragon to well. But that was when he wasn’t strong enough to kill elites in TOA well enough and their small attacks ate my HP. I finally started building him a month ago and he’s a go-to for comfort. At release, I personally couldn’t have recommended pulling for him. But now that one could potentially max out a character and a weapon with a couple of weeks, he’s definitely worth it.

But to give people some extra context I entered in my (fairly trashy echoes) I built for Jiyan into a damage calc tool that shows total damage (not damage per hit). I mean... obviously Jiyan signature is going to be better on Jiyan??? But Age of Harvest is an overall better weapon for account health because it's easier to build (Crit Rate instead of Crit DMG) and it's usable on pretty much every Heavy Blade character and likely will be going forward. When Jiyan gets powercrept down the line you'd rather have Age of Harvest on your account than his signature. Also your damage calc isn't entirely accurate, you're only Calculating his Liberation DMG when Jinhsi Signature buffs Resonance Skill damage by a huge margin (and he is using Skill usually twice during his Liberation rotation). If you compare his overall damage on signature vs Jinhsi weapon having Crit DMG main on Jinhsi signature and Crit Rate main on Jiyan signature, the damage is very close (this is calculated using the exact same substats rolls just switch 4 cost main stat). During an entire Liberation rotation his signature weapon is around 10% more damage, Jinhsi's weapon does around 10% more damage outside of Liberation.

I won the 50/50 on him and got his weapon, I also got Jinhsi and her weapon and let me tell you: the amount of damage you get on Jiyan by using his weapon is way better than using Jinhsi's. If you are F2P and don't want to save your pulls I get it if you want to skip, but if you are a low spender I highly recommend you get the weapon if you have Jiyan or plan to roll for him

I have a stupid story about this weapon. I pulled Yinlin during her banner and naturally, I will also pull for her weapon. However, my stupidity won when I misclicked the banner of Jiyan's weapon instead of Yinlin's. I had a massive anger and hatred to myself that time because imagine pulling Yinlin and pulling Jiyan's greatsword afterward and ran out of astrites. Take note that I didn't pull for Jiyan because I didn't have enough astrites that time.

Wait for Jinhsi weapon for him if you want to get a 5* Broadblade for him, his signature isn't significantly better (since generally you have to swap Crit DMG main for Crit Rate main, which makes the damage difference of the weapons much smaller) and Jinhsi's weapon is way more futureproof for other characters since pretty much every DPS uses Resonance Skills to do damage in some capacity. Jiyan signature is only around 10% more damage in practice.

I wouldn't say it's futureproof since Heavy Attacks are probably the least used type of attack in the game right now and characters that do use it often convert it to another type. That plus it being Crit DMG messes with his Crit Ratios a bit which is quite notable since he does lots of hits, so your average Crit Multiplier is more important (harder to fish for more crits than a nuke DPS).

No multi hit units aren't as reliant on Crit Rate as nuke type dps look at Jinhsi you NEED 70% min. Also the game just released of course there will be disparities in which dmg types have been favoured. That isn't much of a point. Ages of Harvest is a better investment imo cause Crit Rate is easier to balance your ratio around and Skill Damage is more commonly used. Mainly cause you start with 50% Crit DMG and only 5% Crit Rate.

If you like playing with him and is a low spender I recommend you get the weapon, that 48% damage buff for him is absolutely cracked and Jinhsi's weapon buff is not that great on him unless you have his S1. You should probably skip it if you are F2P tho.

No weapon in this game is a must pull, Limited chara are so powerful that you can beat the game with 3 star weapon if you are good enough, 4 star weapon make it less challenging and 5 star SIG turn most content into a joke. (I beat ToF with lvl 40 3 star weapon Jinshi and Jiyan) Honestly my biggest regret is pulling on weapon banner just to lose my next 5 star 50/50 twice in a row so I miss Changli. I have all chara in the game except for her and Jianxin, in my calc as long as I only lose one 50/50 I would get all chara but goddammit my luck is so bad istg. Anyway grab a 4 star weapon, level them to 90, and if you can't beat content with it, get good 5 star SIG is more impactful for 4 star chara cuz they have lower DPS ceiling so increasing that ceiling will help you more comfortably clear content. Prioritize getting chara over weapon unless you really really want them or you can afford to get them and the charas

Yeah I personally think he's not worth pulling right now. No content that specifically needs an Aero DPS, his grouping is nice but his damage is lower than some of the other DPS characters like Xiangli or Jinhsi (so he's likely to get powercrept sooner). Also according to rumours 3.x DPS characters are supposed to be crazy so sub-DPS and support characters from 1.x are going to have way more pull value than a DPS.

Got Jiyan and his weapon in the first week after the game launched. Won the 50/50 and grinded exploration a lot. It's honestly so great that I can get a limited 5 star and his weapon as a new player, In a certain G game i remember getting a limited 5 star character like once in 6 months (all from exploration). And I fucking spent money on Arlecchino because I was so busy with work and couldn't grind, and just a few days later I picked up WUWa to never play genshin again, and the money spent on Arlecchino was a waste.

4:10 you messed up there cuz even if it´s still not the most relevant feature if you read jinshi´s kit it clearly says that her enchaced state is considered as heavy attack damage. it´s not the best weapon for her but it has it´s good use. id say this wepon is a better pull if you have both jiyan and jinshi as its usable on both and she can still make up for the loss of her skill dmg amp with her own sequence 1 if you really wish to invest on her.

Her incarnation plunge attack is the only heavy attack in her enhanced state, but using it delays the rest of her damage output significantly and a huge DPS loss. It's basically never something you use in combat, so Verdant Summit is pretty much entirely a stat-stick on her. Its stats are good though, especially compared to every weapon that isn't her sig.
