Judge Death is certainly the most iconic villain for Judge Dredd in my mind. I've only read a few stories and those were 1980s reprints but, unlike many of my comics from back then, I still have them, they made that much impact on me. I'd love to see more Bolland art, unfortunately his output for Marvel was very limited and for DC it was mostly covers, and nothing recently.

Thanks Charlie youtube.com/@charliedogg7683. Totally agree! Judge Death is such a badass villain, and Bolland's art is iconic! Fingers crossed he decides to whip up some new stuff again - I miss these old days when he worked on 2000AD!

Cheers Nate youtube.com/@HaulYeahComics, glad you enjoyed the video, it's always fun to share these 2000AD original classics! Bolland's art is next level and I've always loved his work especially these 70's & 80's 2000AD and Marvel UK (he did a host of ads for Star Wars and Hulk Weekly #1 cover) books.

I've got a stack of 2000AD comics from my childhood, including these Progs. What kind of money would they fetch? Now I'm in my 50's I realise that I can't hold on to everything!

Hey youtube.com/@ForViewingOnly! Looks like Prog 149, 1st Judge Death and Judge Anderson, is selling on eBay for around $30. What Progs do you have? If you have a Prog 2 with the 1st Judge Dredd, that is quite pricey indeed, but Prog 1, 5 and 10 sell well too. The Banned issues, Prog 71, 72, 77 and 78 which I covered in a previous video are also worth something. I'll have more videos on other 2000AD key issues soon!

@@StillOnly35c They're all in the loft so I'd have to dig them out. I don't think they go back as far as Progs 1 to 10, but I might have the Progs that you said were banned... unless they never went on sale? I'll check out the videos you did about them, thanks. As well as Judge Death, I remember Dredd stories about Boing, The Fatties, Otto Sump, a case of citizens being killed by fear (a guy falling off of a high-rise and being dead before he hit the ground)... and I remember a story about a reality TV show (I think) where people were killed on screen. I must have spent hours looking at the art work as a kid, as I can still picture some of it.

I just watched the video you did on the banned Progs... I was imagining them being banned for gore and violence by Mary Whitehouse, rather than for parodying commercial characters!

Anthrax has an "Among the Living" shirt with Judge Death on the front. Death is also the main villain in Judge Dredd #2. I believe these parts you're showing are portions of that comic where it's one cohesive story.

@@StillOnly35c Scott Ian from Anthrax was a huge Dredd fan, hence the song "I am the Law". So, it was just a nod to that. Original comment edited BTW.

I now have to find those issues, especially prog 2 and 3. I'll be willing to pay it but to my surprise, I had no idea the 2000AD UK "Progs" were so short!!! Seems like they're 8 pages of actual story. Were all the issues this short?
@StillOnly35c
@StillOnly35c 2 ай бұрын
Cool to hear youtube.com/@NotNearMint, they are great books. Yes, most of the 2000AD Prog stories are quite short, typically around 5 or 6 pages per Prog with maybe 4 or 5 stories included. The idea being that these were weekly issues, so it was all about delivering quick bursts of storytelling to keep you hooked every week! Been the same with 2000Ad since the beginning and there was a similar structure in most UK comic books.

Hello from Chattanooga, Tennessee. I like watching your videos. Do you live in Australia or Great Britain? Are you going to read the new Dc Absolute Universe Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman? It has some very good writers and artists on those books. 😊

Thanks Ismael youtube.com/@ismaeltorres3975. Thought I had replied to this one, but seems to have gotten lost/deleted. I'm live in Australia, but originally from the UK. Appreciate the recommendation for the new DC Absolute Universe; I've already picked up Batman and will see how they go with the other members of the Trinity.
