Jiraiya encouraged the human aspect within Naruto. An establishing moment in the aftermath of the Zabuza fight was that ninja are tools. Tools are used and don't ask questions. Naruto's heroism was in direct opposition to this way of being. It's why Sakumo was made into a pariah. Naruto established a new way for ninja to operate in a way that encourages their humanity, moving past the old ways. Koji *isn't* actually Jiraiya. He's a ninja of those old times, through and through. He seems to expect that out of Boruto, so we'll see some conflict there. I'm thinking that those old principals may be what's behind Kawaki's declaration that "the age of shinobi is over," considering that Shikamaru is falling back to those ways in his plot against the Shinju. There might be some aspect of the old ninja ways that rubs Kawaki the wrong way. Like how he feels that the Otsutsuki use humanity as tools...

I think this (next chapter(s)) is where Sarada's Mangekyou Sharingan might come into play: Since Sarada's a product of love and peace (born after the Cycle of Hatred), everything about her is love-driven; her Sharingan awakenings, her desire to become Hokage, etc. She's basically Yang. Sarada has seen how Yodo is behaving when it comes to saving Shinki; she has great resolve. Her mind is fixated on saving Shinki by defeating Ryu. But this is likely to put her at risk because this may shift her focus away from the battle scene and from the actual task at hand. If, for even a second, Yodo drops her guard, she's done for. I also believe Yodo will do something reckless, or even her partner Array will jeopardise the mission, putting all of them in danger. Boruto then, somehow, manages to teleport, at Koji's dismay, to the battlefield, luring Jura out. Jura then quickly comes on into then scene and probably overwhelms Boruto as predicted by Koji but a divergence from the prediction occurs as the unexpected happens which is Sarada possibly awakening her Mangekyou Sharingan powers (probably one of several and pretty busted too; OP) and uses it unconsciously to protect Boruto from him. This may leave Jura intrigued by her display of heroism. Sarada awakening her Mangekyou Sharingan powers again at the right moment may once again defy fate and time as it was never originally intended to occur. The moment when Jura shows up to kill Boruto but couldn't due to Sarada's MS is not accounted for by Prescience (10 Directions). Her love for a fellow teammate (possibly romantic & because it's Boruto) and the desire to protect him may spark the awakening of her MS powers. Inspired by ABD. 😅

I think it may be just as practical that, much in the way boruto was learning jutsu from the future earlier than in another timeline, koji may be setting up boruto to grow in a different way by setting up this situation the way it is. He could be achieving a mindset, or self belief, that may be essential before he joins the battle. This may be the necessary character growth to be able to use his karma seal without fearing momoshiki. I think the story will paint koji as a darker version of jaraiya sure. But remember jaraiya threw naruto to his death to get him to draw out the 9 tails chakra and summon a toad.

I feel like Kashin and Boruto represents two sides of being a ninja. Boruto embodying the customary aspect of it protecting your commerades and staying true to your word(his promise to guard Sarada and protect her to sasuke, for example) versus Kashin ma view of sacrificing people for the greater good of the world. Both are shinobi like in nature and represent a good conflict for Boruto to struggle with against Kawakis twisted view of what shinobi are. Overall, i think Ikemoto cooked with Kashin Koji. They have a 5kage summit sasuke and obito esque relationship which i love. You did mention his fight with destiny and Kashin Koji being the embodiment of that, but again, i also feel it’s also growth on his definition on what it truly means to be a shinobi, and what it means to have human customs. Remember, Kawaki is also another fight of efficiency both Sarada and Boruto fight against.

Unpopular sub-theme: Resolve. How far one is willing to go, for love. Love is kind of, the central theme of TBV, which is a flip around of "The Cycle of Hatred", which dominated the previous generations of ninja before and until Naruto's time. I feel like Prescience (10 Directions) is a true test to Boruto's resolve. I really want to see how Boruto will navigate his path with Prescience seemingly as his "hindrance".

THEORY AHEAD!! In my opinion this chapter has a lot of connection to the Boruto - Naruto next generation part 1 where Boruto tells us that - THIS IS HIS STORY. It’s forshadowed that he won’t listen to Koji and that he is going to act on his own. Also in first chapter when he is fighting Kawaki, he is asking him was this the only possible outcome, and Kawaki responds to that. Like he knows something about all the possible outcomes? What I think is happening is that Kashin Koni while is not evil is akin to Jigen/Isshiki. I say this because Jigen/Isshiki had the same approach with Kawaki. Do as I say because I know better. Being with Kashin Koji long enough for Koji to push Boruto to his breaking point resulting in Boruto wanting to leave Koji and possibly doing so might be what makes Boruto finally understand Kawaki 100%. This is similar to the relationship Batman had with his sons. This doesn't mean that Boruto will end up on the same path as Kawaki and become "evil". Even if this happens it would only be temporary. Ultimately Kawaki and Boruto will stay on their own paths but come around to each other and develop a hub between each other that they will always return to when differences need to be debated. I do like the relationship between Boruto and Koji being similar enough to that of Isshiki and Kawaki without being too similar that it feels the same.

Everything that both Naruto and Sasuke originally did were based off of their emotions. Sasuke wanted revenge against Itachi and later wanted revenge for his clan after learning of Itachi's heroics. Naruto wanted to become Hokage so that he could be loved and he wanted to return his friend Sasuke to the village after he went rogue. Hopefully powered-up limit removed Kawaki saves everyone vs. Shinju so Boruto doesn't have to.

You missed someone though, aren't boruto and momoshiki in the same body? What if momoshiki is the solution for Jura's defeat, not boruto? Koji only saw boruto's future, but he hasn't said anything about momoshiki's future, meaning if momoshiki takes over, Jura might be cooked with uzuhiko shinjutsu. If he tells boruto that momoshiki is the solution, boruto might have never teamed up with Koji to avoid being knocked out and free momoshiki. I can see this happening but I just do not want boruto to be a carbon copy of Naruto. Boruto right now acting more like the shadow hokage and still protective is good for me while also going down Naruto’s path as well. I also feel that kashin koji may leave or betray boruto and that is possibly where borutos karma will react and we get to see momoshiki. I do not know but I know that boruto will protect his friends but I believe that he will be doing it alone from now on without the help of kashin koji and the consequences along with it.

Deep thinking mement.... You said naruto broke away from destiny. I dont think he did. His dad was the the 4th Hokage. His mom was a jinchuriki and had lineage from 1 of the world's greatest clans in history. His godfather was a legendary sannin. His sensei was a future hokage and 1 of the most known ninja of his generation. His rival was from the legendary uchiha clan. He was an indra reincarnate. He was always destined for greatness despite his childhood upbringing. He had greatness in him and around him

Boruto is focused on friends and doesnt get yet that sometimes sacrifices need to be made. Thats a downside to telling someone the future..if it involves people you love you wanna stop whatever comes. Kashin isnt emotionally invested and just handles according to his visions..so if a konohamaru dies he wont lose sleep over it.
