A more technical way to describe these coins are "clones" instead of "forks" because they restart the network after they clone the Kaspa code. An actual hard fork would be that they continue the Kaspa network at a certain block. Similar to how Bitcoin cash worked where after the fork you got a 1 to 1 conversion. 1 BTC gave you 1 BCH on the fork with the same address.

I will only buy Kaspa when I get a good answer to this question: Why will Kaspa succeed where other proof of work fast chains failed like Kadena, Multivac, Zillqa, etc.? It seems every new cycle we get new fast/new tech cryptos that get hyped only to fade into obscurity later on. Kaspa seems to be the latest one this cycle. I get that Kaspa has good tokenomics, but that won't be enough to achieve mass adoption like bitcoin.

Pre-mining is one thing and faster emission is completely different. Kaspa has a faster emission because adoption was expected to come much quicker than something like bitcoin. You could have the same concerns with bitcoin that with its slow emissions it allows early people build up huge supplies of the coin but obviously no one knew btc would get to where it is today so over time it got distributed. Kaspa is no different. It was mined completely fair meaning anyone who learned about Kaspa could mine. It also has a much fair distribution giving it to retail way before big players get into the mix. For example MARA mining joined after 60%+ was mined. Grayscale announced they only looking at Kaspa and 80%+ is mined now. This fast emission was actually to prevent centralization of coins and instead let retail have them first. The lack of smart contracts is a bullish problem because they are coming but first the foundation it’s being built upon needs to be perfected to allow for a better design of smart contracts that will solve current problems in coins like ETH and SOL.

The original Kaspa ASICS are turned off and e-waste now. A GPU miner will move on to another coin. Either way the network security is based on if it is a viable project and therefore profitable to mine.

With GPU mining like you said you can just go to another coin and I think it’s better to have asics because you are locked in until profits diminish and not that a new shiny coin came out and is more profitable at the moment. ASICS create a much more stable hashrate for a network.

Slow and cautious building is good but timeframe is also quite important. Imo it’s important they at least release Crescendo before end of the coming bullrun. Maybe they wont do it because devs have always been cautious and take all the time needed for each Kaspa development, which can be good, but bad for KAS price this bullrun. Imo No Crescendo = No T1 listings = No catalysts to push the KAS price as high as it should go.

And as you say, combining with the fact that Kaspa already had a huge run since bearmarket, i don’t see the price going parabolic this bullrun. Having a 0,6-0,7$ max fo KAS at top of the bullrun is my bet if no 10BPS release and no T1 listings. Next bullrun, if SCs and DAGknight are done as it is planned, KAS can be a top 10 coin with adoption.
