The whole fandom thing is scary, I didn’t realize it was such a serious thing until 2 years ago when I found myself in one. The “fans” hold these entertainers to a impossible standard, just having a girl friend is enough to get them dragged through social media for weeks. Seen a actor drinking during a New Year’s party and the next day they were ripping him on Twitter. For drinking. At a New Year’s party. I hear about fans hiring private detectives to get dirt on people (both entertainers and other people in the fandom who have a different opinion), camping out in abandon buildings across the street for peoples houses, sneaking cameras into gifts. Harassing stars family and friends. I was so shocked

For Brothers Sun, I was pretty meh on it, add on the fact that the trailer seeing them miscaption: "Ganbei" as (All in Japanese) bothered me, given the legit premise on Triad + Taiwanese, felt like a weird mistake and likely translated by someone who doesn't know either Taiwanese or Japanese culture, since someone who knows either should have never made that mistake. The motto "Protect the Family" felt corny. As an American with Taiwanese parents, this show felt like it hurt more than it helped. I don't want any Taiwanese show, I want a Good show with Taiwanese influence or talent. Good show needs to come first.

51:50 to Ed (both) and david Do you guys remeber back in the late 2000s and early 2010s about the "service girls"? I met my first around 8 or 12. Shit was confusing because i was like "who tf are you people in this room." Idk how i got in at the age of 8 or 12 into an karaoke club with my mom and friends and boss (rules were more LAX decades ago) but I remember my mom's friend's boss specifically calling out to one of the escorts to give the new guy a "happy time". My mom being the most scariest lady out there said "we not doing that and shut that down." and everything was basically rated G. Before the LAPD started cracking down on this issue, it was very common to see karaoke clubs close at 4am or 6-7am at most and you just see random ladies glammed up. Some of them might be actual party goers just having a great time with friends. Most of them were straight up escorts.

Only good part of Brothers Sun was the fight choreo and when the Le Brothers + Yoshi Sudarso showed up as gangsters and shit on the main character. Poor writing, bad tonal shifts, but I watched it till the end :/

Yeah the Brothers Sun wasn't the best . It was just nice to see an almost all Asian cast. I've been tired out from work and it was a relaxing watch and even the not so good writing was amusing. Even the short police officer whom everyone thought was Mexican is actually Filipino.
