I owned Q750's a Q650C for about 5 years. I decided that I wanted to upgrade but R series is a year or two for me. I ordered a pair of Q11 Metas and a Q6 Meta. After owning the new Q Metas for about two months it is easy to hear the improvements in the new Q Meta series. They are cleaner, They resolve much more detail all the way up and down the frequency range. Voices are MUCH clearer and easier to hear. They sound larger and more "airy". They removed a slightly "boxy" sound the old Q series had. Message to the author of this video. Comparing the Q6 Meta inside of the cabinet and the Q650C outside of the cabinet puts the Q6 Meta at a huge disadvantage. If they were in the exact same location the Q6 Meta would have sounded that much better. Also, listening to the speaker for 15 seconds from less than 1 foot away is not the correct wat to go about this. Adding, you were too far off axis for the tweeters. You need to be directly in front of speakers. I am not trying to bust your ba**s but your comparison was incorrectly done in many ways. PS. The reason why the sensitivity of the Q6 dropped slightly is two active woofers in the same size cabinet. Once you run room correction you would never notice it.

Thanks for your comment. I tested it outside of cabinet. Even though when it was in cabinet it was pushed all the way forward with nothing blocking it. I tested both them as if they were left and right speakers. I don’t think the average consumer would notice the difference. Now someone like you and I? Of course there is a difference. There just isn’t a big enough difference for most people that already have the q650c. If you don’t own any of these the q6 is the right way to go. Once u set everything up the right way though, the q650c held its own. I was able to tune down the boxy sound and bring up the treble to help clarity in voices. The q6 does sound fuller as it’s a real 3 way. So it’s just user case here. Thanks for watching. I’m no professional by any means. Just your average buyer that likes to share his real world experience with others. Definitely not a paid shill lol.

Good feedback thank you. I'm looking at the R3's for L/R and trying to figure out how much of a difference, money aside, there is between centers: Q6 Meta or R2 or R6. Like you, I'm a Denon user (have ~20 yr old 70w 5.1 AVR). Looking at the 3800h but also thinking of the new Onkyo RZ30 which includes a Dirac license. I was blown away on how good Dirac was at a local Best Buy demonstration. It's available on the 3800h but you have to pay more for it.
@EverydayElectronics232 ай бұрын
Two very good avr systems. I know the rz50 had hdmi issues and not full 2.1 bandwidth. They might have fixed it with firmware.

@@EverydayElectronics23 That's a good heads up to look into. I see on the BBY reviews that ~10% or so give it a very low rating but overall its very high. If it was a software issue - and in every unit - you would think more would have the problem but I am not technical.

@@TruthHasSpoken look up the issue on Reddit. It’s well known issue.

I got the Q6 it’s cool but I’m wondering if I would be missing out by not getting the Monoprice 365c that’s raved. Q6 still sounds a bit muddy and not super crisp
@EverydayElectronics2321 күн бұрын
Really? Muddy? I thought that too until I messed with settings on my Denon receiver. Voila sounds so crisp after. What sounds good in my room might not sound good in yours. This why I tell everyone to try them out for yourself. Hope you find what you’re looking for. It’s definitely a rabbit hole lol. Thanks for watching. Please consider dropping a like and subscribing if you haven’t already. Happy holidays!

Hello, the new Kef QMeta is a mix and match with the previous generation Q series I have a pair of q950s can I use them mixed with kef q6 metas? will it harm the amps?
@EverydayElectronics23Ай бұрын
You should be fine to mix and match. I did and had no problems.

I'm considering the KEF Q6 Meta as a center channel for my KEF LS50 Metas, how do you think the Q6 Meta would integrate with the LS50 Meta's? I'm concerned the smaller 4" driver wouldn't be good with the 5" drivers in the LS50's as you want the center to typically be more full. However, I'm not sure where the 4" Uni-Q driver is crossed, but it could be possible that due to the crossover, the 4" could be as full as the 5" in the LS50 Meta, plus the mid/bass woofers on the sides. What do you think? My LS50 Metas were originally intended as a 2.1 stereo system using a miniDSP SHD processor and a Parasound HALO A23+ amp and a Rhythmik G22 dual-opposed servo sub...but I'm creating a hybrid system with an Anthem MRX 740 8k to handle a 5.1 system for home theatre, and I'll use the outputs to continue using my existing 2.1 setup for music. Or I could sell the LS50 Metas and SHD and Parasound amp and get a pair of Q Conciertos, Q6 Meta, and Q8 Metas.
@EverydayElectronics232 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. The q6 meta is a real 3 way center. So that means it has 1 tweeter and 1 mid driver and 2 low end drivers for bass. The 4 inch doesn’t handle no bass. The bigger drivers are the ones that handle the bass. It would integrate well. I have q150s with the q6 and it sounds phenomenal. Please consider subbing and hitting that bell. This way you know when I drop new content and notified about upcoming giveaways.

@@EverydayElectronics23 Thanks for the reply. Subbed to support. Any experience with the Conciertos or the LS50 Meta's and how they compare in a 2.1 and 5.1 system?

Thank you. I am considering R6 Meta or Q650 as LCR. What do you say!
@EverydayElectronics232 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. For left , center and right? If that’s what you meant you’ll save money by getting some of kefs 3 way bookshelves for left and right and using the q6 as center. Q650c is still a capable speaker
@induction78952 ай бұрын
Considering these because they can be placed closer to the wall.
@EverydayElectronics232 ай бұрын
@induction7895 I would consider the Elac Unifi 2.0 3 way speaker then. Front port so you can put close to a wall. They have concentric driver just like Kef.

If you do decide please consider purchasing through my affiliate link in videos description. Very good deals on the q650c right now.
@marct9587Ай бұрын
Yep, the Q6 Meta is cleaner and more coherent sound, while the Q650 seemed "hashy" in comparison.
@EverydayElectronics23Ай бұрын
To the average listener they won’t really notice. Yes the q6 has a tiny bit more depth with clarity. It wasn’t a big enough reason to upgrade. So either one will work. Thanks for the support. Glad you like the q6.
