There is a difference between plant and being "selected" - Kevin is absolutely talented and one of the best in comedy - but he was most definitely selected by the industry. They love him. We love his talent - but the industry absolutely has selected Kevin for success. You see this in everyday jobs as well - the 'bosses' will pick who succeeds or gets the platform, regardless of whether or not that person is deserving.

But life evens out. Eventually you have to prove your worth…those employees will either sink or swim based on their work ethic and or skill. Kevin was “chosen” yes…but he out worked his competitors..he had some misses and had some HUGE hits, but nobody can deny his work ethic which allowed him to succeed.

Idk if he a plant or not, but I heard about em on da streets. I remember I was a day labor on a construction site, and one of my coworkers brought him up. I forgot how we got to it, and it's no telling because we talk to get thru the day. But he was like he funny af, and he told me the ate 🍑 face joke. I didn’t get it, and tbh we might’ve gotten there by me sayin Katt Williams my fav comedian...and he still is btw alongside Lavell Crawford now, so I was prolly like Katt still best...it's coming back but vaguely. But anyway, he told me look at it when i got home. Mannnnn when I tell you when I seen Kevin do the joke and the lead up to it, I was 😂😂😂😂😂 the whole stand up was hilariousssss! And then im like my coworker telling people the ate 🍑 face joke and screwing it up just like my coworker did, and they come back after watchin it and laughed just like me. I've enjoyed pretty much everything he's done since, stand up abd movies. I could be wrong, but I think he's where he's at because of his willingness to take the type of comely he's good at and combine it with his work ethnic, and he made sacrifices most people aren't willing to make...I'm not referring to people; im talking like time, energy, risks, humility, etc. And you see movies like the one Russ Parr did, and it's evident his hustle mindset helped elevate him to where he's at, he did more than just stand up...that mentality led to more than just movies, and so on.

The time my co worker told me the joke was around 2011,2012.. I remember the Buick I had because I was his ride to work and thats the time frame i had it before gettin it totaled in an accident. I remember the job site too.
@MJFlairs2 ай бұрын
Idk if I got the years right, but it was definitely before 2015. I do remember the time I had the Buick, but I can't remember fully if that was the car I had when we was at that particular site. I had went through like 4 different cars while working at that temp service. But I do remember the job site, my coworker with locs who put me on to Kevin with the ate 🍑 face joke, me hearing the ate 🍑 face joke in Kevin stand up, and seeing his growth from afar since then.

@manoftomorrow59872 ай бұрын
In this life somebody has to believe in you to give you that push…they saw something. But it’s up to you to constantly deliver greatness. So this whole “industry plant” foolishness really needs to stop. It takes talent, skill and hard work or sometimes it’s just hardwork to constantly keep above the competition.
