it will be intresting to see how youtube responds in order to stay competitive as a video and streaming platform if that were to happen. As of now, YT is currently the platform that pays the most to creators and with the largest reach.

Honestly, I don't know that KZbin will do much. They are not a stream-focused platform and while they could definitely make improvements, I'm not holding my breath.

@@CodyRiffs I agree. And while that may be true, YT is still on top. They have multiple ways all in one platform to make money not just from live streams. I just broke 1k this month with only 2k subs with all the different revinue streams available on YT like supers, memberships, merch, affiliate marketing, digital products, along with ads. Etc.. Not sure where that could be possible otherwise. I'm with ya. The 16/hr kick rumor I think is BS just to market folks over ...it won't happen and if it does it will be for a very select few of the platform YT has a lot of room for improvement for Livestreams but I think they will improve to stay relevant and on top. Like you said I guess we will have to wait and see. Keep up the good work bro 👍

Na nowdays tik tok is paying more for 1 min clips in their new programme, with KZbin you have to make long edited videos, tik tok is just paying equal amount to make 1 min long bideos

It's worth noting that Trainwreck's Twitlonger is contradicted by what Eddie said in regards to a formula as well as who it's open to. Of course these programs have to get ironed out, but it seems the message is NOT clear to the Kick community.

The only way to pay every creator is to have it operate as a DAO (decentralised company) and give everyone part ownership. And even then it would only make people income if the masses moved to it and advertiser’s were paying enough for adds on the platform. It’s almost weird seeing the amount of loyalty for twitch or kick when neither platform users own!

It is honestly something to hear of that around the same time that the proverbial shit is hitting the fan with Twitch and their T.O.S. mess ups, both the initial statements and their attempted backsteps. I won't lie, at first I was like excited like when you see a trailer for a game you've been waiting for... then comes the waiting only to be disappointed in the release. I guess we will see what this looks like and how it will develop from here.

my guess would be the "kicker" would be how many hours u can claim depends on their idea on how much your brand is worth, EVERY ONE QUALIFIES! ur just allowed to claim 20 minutes for that 16$ an hour do what ur brand is worth to us kind of thing.

It might be true, but it's hearsay at this point. There's no program to be paid hourly at this point and the whole $16/hr thing was confirmed fake by Kick's co-founder.

I actually went and asked my twitch community after I saw your initial tweet and found out that a lot of lgbtq and poc creators get massively harassed and theres barely any rules if any. A large part of my community is lgbtq+ which would not be a safe environment - they also pay in crypto from what i read and that alone pushed me away from even considering streaming there. As much as I would love to have the supposed payment plan as its hard enough with my health issues to get a out of home job - the cons are just completely too high for me to risk myself and my community like that to jump ship on Twitch and run to Kick.

Honestly, I feel like there is going to be hateful people that create unsafe environments on every platform. Having good mods/moderation tools in place to protect the community is essential. To Kick's credit, they have done a good job at adding Mod tools since they launched. But I totally understand your position!

We can only hope for now they stick to their word and it doesnt end up being another failed Twitch and KZbin competitor as we Streamers really need to have better options then whats being offered currently - especially when a lot of minority creators do it for a job bc they cant get one somewhere else for medical reasons or otherwise at least in the circles I'm part of
