I have followed more than douzends of mods over their development. Edain, TDD (before known as Rise of Mordor), DaC, the imploded LotR mod for Rome 2 just to name the LotR related ones, I know the drill, so a couple of months without updated news are not making me to worry about the liveliness of a mod. Please remember if you want quicker progress on this mod then you can easily access the modding tools available to everyone with the game and start learning, it took me a week on and off to learn the tools with help from some great youtube tutorials easly found. If 1% of all people waiting for this game did this and then got on board to help out it would speed things up considerably. Instead of asking when it can be released, ask when and how you can help out.

@@Maryondo That is true, but the simple truth is most people don't have the ability and/or skill to help. I have helped a mod (for Medieval 2) with historical research, but that's all i can do. I'm no programmer or 3D modeller. And most people aren't.

As usual, the Tolkien fans prove to be second to none in taking a good game foundation and making it a maginficent LotR gaming experience. One of my favourites is the Age of the Ring mod for The Battle for Middle-earth II: Rise of the Witch-king.

Modding like this is crazy, how long have you worked on this now? I think the first posts on MOD DB is 8 years old. Looking at the Skyblivion mod for Skyrim had also been in development for years. It is easy to take mods for granted but it is crazy how much work are in some of them. I can't say that I don't want it now but take your time and don't burn yourself out!

KoA is what happens when you let modders with no Project Management experience run a full overhaul. It gets stuck in development hell with all members chasing "perfection" but will never find it. They can't be bothered to commit to a roadmap, or a piecemeal release to allow the community to assist in QA, or so they can finish up assets/expand rosters, etc. Its so weird how they've gone about this. It's the complete opposite of what SHOULD be done.

I feel like KOA has become the One Piece of the Bannerlord world. We will be dragged on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on without EVER finding it! Before I get mobbed by people for daring to "complain," I am somewhat glad they are taking time to really hammer out as many issues as they can. Now it would be appreciated if they could post some more updates. They've been releasing between 1-2 updates each year so a lot of initial fans from the announcement video have dropped off. The discord is mostly just people coming in to ask if it's out yet or for a release date to which the mods just send them to a message written ages ago saying they have no idea when the mod will come out and if you thought is was already out your smoking something amazing (I exaggerated the last one but you get the point). The only other things that happen on the discord (that is available to public eyes) is just the staff hanging out and fighting spam bots. With how much time they've taken, I can only imagen how amazing and well thought out the mod will be (if I live to see it that is)

I think the focus shouldn't be on story that much for the beginning a sandbox with vanilla castles getting updated pieces by piece would have been the better approach. Since the hero mode is a secondary . We want to rp in middle earth and then you could update stuff like in realm of thrones

It takes giant amount of time To make MinasTirith and many Lotr buildings, but in reality most important is armors, races , monsters and mechanics. You can even use original buildings from bannerlord (just a bit make up on them) and call alternative story line or something. For example MinasTirith in warband or other games it’s just a huge empty model. To create fully functional interesting city u need huge amount of time and even then it will not be worth it. Couple guys will showcase building real quick then that’s it.

Depending on how long it would take for the entire mod to get released, it would be very cool if maybe singular battle scenes could be released. Maybe you have some of them completely done and basically ready to be played, why not release them and already honor the work so to say? Since the complete release will probably be in some years from now, this would be a very cool way to keep the project alive in way and give the modders some satisfaction/ feedback from fans etc.. I don’t think it would take away from the real release since the core game/mod would still be the campaign map and not those singe battle scenes. I would get M&B just to play an hour long battle scene of your mod 😅

There's only one "first impression" so we want that to be impactful, that's why we are not simply putting something out.

This will be the best lotr game ever released. I know it's a mod overhaul of bannerlord but i consider it a game.
