The first three videos may seem more tame and low budget because seventeen came from a small company and they could afford to make fanccy mvs. But look at them now! First, thank you for reacting to Seventeen. You'd really feel the difference between the 3 initial MVs against the recent ones, cause there has been 5 to 6 years in between. Anyways, you cannot box SVT into just one genre. They are kings of versatility - from pop cutesy to dark concepts, they do it all. Recommend watching more and do check out their dance practices.

I've been watching them for so long, it's always interesting to see new people react to them!! I think the biggest reason for the huge difference you saw between the first three videos and the last two is time - THANKS (the most recent of the three) was from 2018 - 6 years ago now! - and Super and GoM were both from 2023. Seventeen is known for writing and producing their own music, most notably by Woozi (Vocal Unit Leader, lyricist, composer) but every member has had credits at some point in their discography. The improvement and maturity of their sound is thus much more apparent over time than in groups whose music is produced by outside, already experienced producers. That's not to say that their early stuff was lacking or that non-self-producing idols don't work extremely hard to make the soul of their music their own, but the growth from when they were rookies to their current status as a respected senior group in the industry has been huge!!

Thank you for reacting to SEVENTEEN. Their discography it's just insane. There are many music genres that Seventeen has tried. You won't get bored with their songs. Of course, one of the reasons is because they make their own songs with the production team. Woozi is a member and producer of Seventeen. I would suggest rock with you, ready to love, home run, fallin flower, home and pretty u. Their side track is also very impressive. For example Run to you, Campfire, Imperfect love, kidult, good to me, getting closer, heaven's cloud, together, holiday, If I, pinwheel, trauma, lili yabbai, Shhh, Habit, Ash, shadow etc.. Seventeen started off with cute, funny, whimsical because most groups that time started out hard hitting, it was a very different sound for the time which made them stand out more. They didn't take themselves too seriously, especially in their dance choreography but they do so many genres. You might like: Getting closer (rap heavy) and some other recommendations from the comments. Also their HipHop Unit has some crazy good songs. If that's your vibe. 😊

Okay one more comment: the little guy going nuts at the end of Super is the producer and is widely regarded as a musical genius. He won Producer of the Year at age 26.

Seventeen is really versatile so you can't really categorize them in their concepts with each comeback. Considering their latest comebacks like Super and God of Music, they started in 2015 with barely any money and their first MV's are more simplistic and they mainly focused on fresh, sweet and wholesome concept for the first few years, then they started venturing into darker concepts. I wouldn't say God of Music is from BTS tracks, you have to consider that BTS debuted as a hip hop kpop group that was darker in concept to their recent comebacks with Butter and dynamite and Seventeen debuted as a fresh, and young funky concept group that was atypical at the same and God of Music fits into their repertoire overall with their previous works. BTS has evolved in their musical discography but it still follows the same vein of their work. Seventeen has a vast range and diversity in their discography as they have 3 units in their group a hip hop, performance and vocal unit that has their own separate songs and another special subunit like BSS. Each age line has their own songs, each group and special unit groups and solo work from each member is different so they are in their own sort of category as artists. They are self-producing and are heavily involved in writing, composing and for performance in choreography work which was also atypical at the time as most artists didn't have as much involvement. They are from a almost bankrupt agency and worked hard for all the popularity and money that they earned in their agency which still has a bad reputation for taking care of their artists. They brought the agency up from almost nothing and are the main money earners for their company and their company knows it. They made Pledis desirable to be acquired by Hybe and it shows in their productions that they have more money to spend on MV's and the quality has gone up but they are still involved in the back doing the main work. They are some of the hardest working idols and always has content outside of their music comebacks for fans. You should check out their japanese songs, they are so good and I fell like you would like watching their show Going Seventeen. There are fans of seventeen that only know them from their variety show and do not follow them as idols so they have a fandom within a fandom.

I'd go for Good To Me, Fear, Getting Closer next. but if you also like their happy fresh-teen concept then My My, Pretty U are a must!
