I look at La Foudre as what WG would have released if they gave JB the CE treatment like the Mainz and Wichita. A little less focus on the main guns and a massive improvement to maneuverability and secondary effectiveness to bring it more in line with how the French ships are intended to be played now. I run a combo secondary/AA build that gives me almost 9km secondaries and wicked AA. Gives me a nice “stay away from me” bubble for both land and sea. Play it slow until I can find an opportunity to push in and apply pressure with all the guns and reload boosters. Think I have something like 70% winrate in the ship. It’s quite fun, and definitely a must for any Frenchie main who doesn’t have JB.

@@jsl8082 Guépratte with Haruna and Von Hipper. No-Fly Zone, Porcupine, Megalomania, Properly Meticulous (could go Master Mechanic), and Fight Fire With Fire. Ship mods: AA Mod 2, Prop Mod 2, Concealment System Mod 1, AA Guns Mod 3. Secondaries go to 8.8, AA to 6.3 at 278 DPM.

That commander french Mike is actually the best secondary commander to use on the Flander. You can combine the two secondary perks in slot 2 and 3 and run the extra healing in perk 4. Perfect for the Justynion Lyon secondary build.

I pulled the la foudre out of a crate from the campaign a few days ago. I was very excited for the ship, but even more excited for the Jolly Roger flag. Now I have it, and I didn’t need to spend any money to get it. I also got asashio B out of the next crate I got from the campaign

I like Davis on my German DD’s Z-46,44. On the 46 currently my torp reload is 34s. And with the upgrade on reload during gameplay it’ll get down to 30s. Pretty fun playing the Z-46 with 30s reload torps. Once I get my capt’s totally upgraded my guess torps can get to 28 and change.

I'm a stickler for ships to look like ships, so if I had the La Foudre I'd slap a regular camo on it (Heat Ray is the only exception because it's Godzilla for cryin out loud and I love monster movies) I know, I know I'm about as much fun as a lobster attending a sea food convention in Mystic, Connecticut. Great video Derka, your presentation has convinced me to open a third mortgage to finance the doubloons I will need to buy this ship post haste.

It's as close as you're going to get to JB. Depends how much you like French BBs. It's a decent ship. Also, if you're under fire, angle those turrets. They are well armored, but at the artificially short ranges of this game lots of main guns can pen 17"+ of armor. So angle them when they're reloading.

@@CallofDutyBlackOps2010 Have you even looked at the armor models? Turrets have front, side, and top armor, all with different values, so angling will help or hurt depending on how you angle. I can consistently knock French BB turrets. Just know how to aim.

Michel Le Tir's base trait is busted as an inspiration for Henrique Fernandes on Atlantico. My 234mm secondaries went from getting 1k per pen reliably to like 1,400 reliably and he's not even maxed out yet. I think I'll end up getting 1,500/1,600 hits consistently once he's maxed out. With Hipper as the other inspiration, the range I'm getting is still about 11.5km

I love the Foudre I didnt get a Jean Bart and clear lobbies in this ship. Would love to have the Bart I got the reload down to 19.8 reload and the main battery will burn a BB down if bow tanking you. I use AL dunkie as the commander. The HE on this ship is great. I use the skill to switch shell types when loaded with no penalty

Hello, I missed the Jean Bart due to illness and was happy that she somehow came into play, albeit slightly modified, but I don't think her cannons or accessories make her so strong, it's her curved hull. This bend makes it so robust, no other French ship is so well shaped.

This is the third video to claim la foudre has poor accuracy, but my experience so far has been the exact opposite. 50+ matches and I feel like I’m shooting laser beams. I built for accuracy so maybe I’m just getting god tier RNG but at the moment La Foudre is one of my favorite ships and for a Jean Bart knock off I’d say it’s a damn good boat.

Bakc before it was nerfed, i ran a couple games in the JB with Go all out. Insane concealment, i think it was like 9.5? Absolutely devastating when i flanked

When I hear "Will to Rebuild encourages bad BB play" or "Two BB shouldn't be in the same grid" I can't help but think this is situational advice. If you are PUGing and not part of a fleet in communication then this is great advice. No reason not to listen. Now imagine the team is on comms, everyone has allied range specials on, and the fleet is moving in formation. Wanna make an OP fleet? Will to Rebuild on BBs with proper flank guards and scouting destroyers. In my opinion, I would be more interested in Farsight. BBs worst enemies become easier to dodge and nearly double damage reduction on the ones that do, simply be having an escort... As a BB should! All that said it just now occurs to me that fleets are only 5 people, for now, and the ability to do what I am suggesting is more feasible on PC... smh. Oh well, I hope I made my point and I welcome experienced discussion on it. I am certain I have enormous blind spots, hehe.

Why would you argue for building secondaries on Flandre when both her and La Foudre have the same 100mm secondaries that shatter on everything? If anything, La Foudre would slightly make more sense, because she has the best secondary sigma of any BB in the game. That being said, building either for secondaries is a troll meme build at best. People look at the raw numbers and ignore the exclusively rear firing arcs of the larger secondaries... Both have amazing 380mm main batteries, and gimping their performance to pump bottom of the barrel secondaries is how you lose the match before you even begin it. From my handful of games, La Foudre's biggest weakness is the low sigma in combination with French wide shotgun dispersion. Needs to be played medium range, ideally doing driveby's just like Flandre. Also regarding Caprice, you hate all torp DDs so you're heavily biased, LOL. My best win rate is on torp DDs, so I'll disagree. Caprice isn't the worst. I'd say she's easily better than Yolo Emilio for instance. Her speed alone puts her in the upper half of T7 DDs when you consider the primary role of DDs is map control. The biggest weaknesses of Caprice are not specific to her alone: the lack of a dedicated gunboat commander and the general British focus on smokes when we are currently in a strong radar meta.

La Foudre is worth it the moment you can buy it unlike JB, pretty you could get a 4 digit number selling a JB to some pigeons... plus the fact that you got more chance getting eaten by a shark living in Mongolia than getting a JB out of a crate (ngl though i think you got more chance winning the lotery) As for the ship itself ? You summed it up perfectly, a worse version of one of the best ship in the game is still not a bad ship, though i personaly use a full brawler build on my Jean Bart (below 17sec reload is outright insane on 8 front guns), on this one i don't know. Btw something that bothers me are the turrets, 3rd most armored turrets ever plus the fact its 2 twin turrets more than 1 quadruple turret should make these almost unbreakable by nothing but Yamato, but balance am i right

I can usually make bad ships work well enough but there is nothing that you can do to shells that shatter on absolutely everything.
