I think very highly of Cubarsi, but Yamal's skillset is so complete and he's consistently damaging top teams, whereas Cubarsi has more noticeable, 'weaknesses' and he doesn't feel as consistent although he has played well against top forwards. However, I do think Cubarsi has a good chance of being the best CB for a period in his career.

I think Barca has a better future for a few reasons. 1) They finally have a winner in Hansi flick who can install such a mentality, especially on such a young squad + has brought a style of play which is capable of making them win the ucl 2) A talent factory in la masia. Whenever a kid comes out of their academy, 90% of the time you could determine they are better prospects than others out there. Cubarsi, Lamine, Gavi, Bernal, these are types of players you could assume are going to end up as all time greats + Pedri who isn’t even from their academy. The talent they produce will always be better than that of Madrid’s. 3) Barca are close to completing financial recovery. They’re back in the 1:1 rule and are building a new stadium which will bring lots of revenue. This eliminated Madrid’s advantage on the financial side.

Disagree with Cams opinion on Madrid vs Barca. Madrid still haven't solved their midfield even with Tchouameni, Jude, Camavinga, and Valverde, they still have to play 40yo Modric. The less said about their defense the better as well. Barca are also really young as well with a similar elite talent level and while there are a few positions needing upgrades (striker + goalkeeper), I still think they click better than this super unbalanced Madrid team. Also Barca are never selling their super talented youngsters, Laporta would get sacked immediately

Rafi's strengths are his runs behind the defence and taking shots. He was playing touchline winger in leads and barca under xavi, due to which he had to take on defenders and create, i mean he can do that but that's not his strength, under flick he's a inside forward, whos main priority is to make runs, score goals and lamine is in charge of chance creation

On Cam's point with the midfield, i can only see it being a double pivot very smilar to the 4-2-4 with almost two 9 we used last season in big games. I see Odegaard as a player in the first phase in build up dropping out of the block to receive off our backline exactly what we've seen since 2022/23 than what he'd be as a 10. ironically the ideal person in that position would have been Fabio Viera for me in the same mold as Bruno is for you if that's how Mikel wants to go next season, you want him as high up the opposition's half than your own but we'll see. Don’t believe it is below average - it is not at an elite level but still at a high level. I do believe it’s more that our team is a forward pressing team which with Rice in the 8 facilitates that highly due to his physical capabilities. Furthermore, Rice offensive capabilities are at a great level he got 7 goals & 7 assists last season in the prem. Also when he was in the 6 I don’t think he was given a chance to shine with Havertz or Bellingham alongside him (nobody to play off as they pay very high up the pitch). When he has support like Mainoo or with inverting fullback he was pretty good.

A lot of teams would not buy players that were ball in the park and did not play in team or have good image outside the pitch. Players now read better the game bc knowledge is more accessible and science just develops it's part of life. Everyone this days can watch a video on youtube and understand the foundation of tactics or get statistics from some betting app. Before u had to go to school or read a book for that. I'd say players before were more instinctive and played more off just talent and gift. But a lot of them did not make the best decisions in the field if u watch older games like chelsea vs liverpool 2006 and compare it to now, u will get it. But this is more for the Premier League - U can watch old serie a or la liga and the ball was not thrown around like a bouquet. Also, nowadays, a lot of mediocre players or just reasonable players are given a chance bc they are system players and have a better knowledge of the game. One example, can be Germany that won the 2014 world cup. A lot of the players there were playing as system players - all around complete but were not playing tiki taka. Maybe Ozil or Goetze played out of position or were more creative. But they won it. While Argentina had all that talent /Brazil also and they have lost bc of the iQ of the coaching staff and players. While Brazil and Argentina had naturally gifted players. Germany had trained and targeted the right players with high end technology in and data. After that, teams just kept doing it, it's part of the game. But at some point can become boring and predictable.
