Cruyff one of the greatest footballing minds in the history of the sport, said that Kroos should have won a ballon d`or. i think Kroos is one of the 10 or so greatest midfielders of all time, but midfielders are incredibly hard to rank because AM`s, CM`s and DM`s are all so different, heck even many players within the same class of midfielder can be vastly different from each other and still be amazing. the greatest AM`s are the likes of Platnini and Zidane, and Cruyff if you consider him an AM and not a striker. CM`s would be the likes of Xavi, Iniesta, Modric, Kroos, Seedorf, Pirlo and Gullit DM`s would be the likes of Matthaus, Rijkaard, Busquets.

Kroos has spoiled me since I started following his career in 2014. Dude makes so many simple and crazy long passes effortlessly and accurately like he's playing FIFA, when you watch any other player miss a pass, you immediately think "Kroos wouldn't have missed that".

Kroos is basically an unrepeatable player. Years on years of consistently averaging over 90% pass accuracy while also being top 5 at least in progressive passes. There will never be a better field switch passer in my opinion.

I'm surprised. I thought the guy had a couple more seasons in him at the top level, but I guess it's a similar thing to Lahm, who also retired at around 34-ish and shocked people. In my opinion, I've always thought Kroos was a superior player to Xavi. I'll always take someone like him or Pirlo, with their technical ability, their vision of the game and their ability to strike the ball, or pass the ball, over someone who was more of a system guy and a bit more limited in terms of ability.

Kroos in my opinion has surpassed xavi and the great midfielders of the past. To play at the elite level and keep winning is not to be taken lightly. 6 ucls in a ten year span is possible for him with a euro’s too. His ability has always done the talking. Top 5 midfielders ever for me.

He got more of a free role almost because Modric didn't play beside him almost every game (obviously not a knock against Modric, but there is only 1 ball on the pitch), he had the ball alot more and had the chances to create more since Modric wasn't on the pitch as much which made him more involved and we got to see how great he really is.

I disagree with Kroos always being under appreciated but he does easily fall in the shadows because he doesnt exactly put himself front and centre because from 2014 to 2018 he was better than Modric until Modric had that historic WC run and won the ballandor and then everyone started saying he's always been better but hes a legend and will be remembered
