I just want to let you know Debs, that we have 2 mini Schnauzers, one makes this chimpanzee sound when excited for a walk....and our other one is a bundle of anxiety and hates the world and everyone in it except for us! So yes it can be stressful but they are the most loving dogs on the planet like yours so little embarrassing moments I can deal with 🙈 A lovely time with your grandchildren too, priceless isnt it, take care Deb n Mark xx

I feel your stress level Deb! We had a little dog, that as soon as you brought out her leash, she would start howling & making the same type of noises as yours does. It would last for the first 10-15 minutes of our walk & then she’d stop. I always feared that people around us thought we were hurting her in some way, but it was just that she loved to go for walks & the noises was how she showed her excitement.

Debbie, re stress level no matter the time in the UK, just think that it is 6.00pm somewhere in the world, have a large Hendricks and Fevertree and let Mark do the worrying and organising. That way if it goes wrong you have plenty of verbal ammo to keep him busy/quiet when you get to lay your head on the pillow. Re stress leaving your boat overnight, think about leaving your Roller or Lambo in a public car park for an afternoon or evening!

Being in the wrong carriage on a train because of short platforms and being given the wrong end of the train by train staff has happened to me so many times in Britain! But you did it with all your stuff two dogs and filming at the same time, so well done both of you! Used to do quite a bit of remote backpacking and many times i would have to leave my vehicle in remote places. Always was apprehensive. Worse done was someone let all the air out of my tires and all the other vehicles too. I always carry a pump so i filled everyones tires up till my little compressor over heated and melted

Home sweet home, always nice to return. Great to see grandsons, I have 4 grandsons and a you say box will be boys, adventurous and no fear, they were just completing an assault course. Just a thought, would a doggie backpack resolve stress traveling for dogs. I'm sure taking them on their daily walk isn't an issue. Glad you made the train journeys OK, even with a few hiccups. ❤

I am surprised Debs stress level didn’t explode seeing the grandsons jumping across lined up flat sheds. Having been a registered nurse for 40 years I have seen injuries caused by kids doing silly things like this with one 8 year old losing his leg. However as you said boys will be boys plus I can’t believe how cute a chubby the baby is what a wonderful cheerful little man. Your dog does sound like a chimp, do the dogs get on well with your grandsons. I love their names as I know they have such unusual names, but I could not remember the babies name. With four? Grandsons I bet they are a handful. Debs I have a land home but I still have to go through torture to check all my windows and doors are locked if staying away from the house, and they can’t sail off with mine, so I know how you feel. Lovely to see you both again you have certainly had some good weather this year which show your barge and areas in beautiful light. Take care.

Wasn't that Lex Barker, who played Tarzan from 1959 - 1953? Your trains are fantastic. Ours are so old, diesel. I'm surprised their not still steam. I'm confused: if you are all on the same train, arriving at the same time, why would it make a difference which coach you are in? I have four grandsons also, although a little older. The children! So cute! Getting so tall and that baby is precious. Quite a process to get to them but we grandparents will do anything to spend time with them, won't we. I'm on Debs side with the dog whining. I cant even handle my dog pacing up and down our boat, drives me nuts. If you run them hard to begin with are they better? You are lucky that you can take the dogs on the trains, in New Zealand I think that they have just started letting dogs on public transport. Trains have always freaked me out platform wise, is the train going to stop? What if I'm on the wrong train? Arghhhh! Mind you we don't have commuter trains where I live. Viewer in USA here; I recall a good while back, you upgraded the locks on your doors. Are there any other security measures you take when leaving your NB for a night or more ? When it comes to break ins, do you think they’re on the rise ? I watch a couple of other NB video’s and some poor girl recently had her boat broken into & those who did it, left it in a right mess. I get it, that some places are safer than others but surely there’s still an element of luck when it comes to leaving your boat in a safe looking spot ?

We've not done any more security upgrades, as we very seldom leave the boat for any length of time. I saw the video of the girls boat being broken into and trashed, very sad Whether it's a house a car or a boat, thieves are on the lookout for all of these that are left for days or weeks on end unattended. Only my opinion but a boat left unattended in a secluded area along the canal for 2 weeks stands a lot more chance of getting broken into than boat left for one night in well lit busy area. Even in a busy area strong locks will deter and they will move on to the next boat with weaker locks. At the end of the day if they want something bad enough they will take it

Interesting at 3:47 .. boats were moored stern-to, not sideways/parallel to the land. Can boats do that other places too? How does one know whether that's allowed or not?
