Thank you for explaining that problems of being deprecated by others, or by self can make the situation worse. Not everyone understands that. And what's disappointing is when you see clinicians who are not in psychiatry engaging in the deprecation.

If it is the motive of not wanting to work with external rewards, then if you build in intrinsic rewards, like values it can't really be considered malingering? you would use procrastination as a motive forward. Also, use of self-fulfilling prophecies. I am not malingering to be a positive self-fulfilling prophecy, and malingering to be a negative self-fulfilling prophecy, remember you can say this out loud. Not everybody knows or understands psychology. Also thank you for not saying that it is a character issue, which might affect one's core beliefs about oneself. which can have a significant negative impact. From an intellectual perspective, it makes sense because single-tasking addresses the concerns. Talking about biases, and taking a scientific approach with some data makes it believable. Whenever one brings research I would trust it a little bit more. Some people might not be aware they are doing it, or how to change it? So it's difficult because we don't know the nature of the claims, by the patient, or the organization.

Such a lackluster and just uninterested lecture. Sad because the topic is quite interesting.

Well, you're lucky it's not in the middle of the lecture theatre, no one's forcing you, to watch it. SO you just said student, and not what course you were on. I guess you're a medical student curious about picking a rotation. Sometimes it's hard to picture because if it's abstract. if you haven't had practical experience, A video-based approach with interaction probably would be stimulating, it's easier to conceptualize. However, this is about reporting research data. Disseminating your results, to the public is what you do. Most lay people don't know that they are lay, in ref to Adam. Anyway, this is a year ago to 3 months ago now.

Put a timer in short sections to watch the whole part, if you need it for a course. Have you seen the curve to reach flow? If curiosity doesn't work that's what you do, put a set timer, and read it in small sections. So how come you found it boring, and what would make it interesting? See if you can figure out what can you do to make it interesting. In what circumstances would be useful, or applicable. Some academics might personalize it, so don't be mean about their work, be respectful. How would you feel, if you were giving a lecture, and someone did that to you? How would you advise a friend there?
