The singing was spectacular! My one critique is referring to Terrance Howard as the "guy from Ironman" rather than referring to him by his role in the epic, classic movie Hustle and Flow. Us elder Millennials bumped that soundtrack, and the movie was iconic. I still refer to Terrance as DJay and Taraji Henson as Shug cuz it's hard out here for a peemmp when he tryin' get dah money fo dah reeennt, for his Cadilac and gas money spent, because a whole lotta b*tches jumpin ship.

One of the only people who was predominantly known as a singer, who transition into acting successfully for me, was Lenny Kravitz. I can’t think of another one off of the top of my head, but when you think of somebody who started off as a great singer, and ended up being a really good actor, Lenny comes to mind. However, I would love to see him do bigger roles. Because I do feel like he’s only done glorified cameos at this point with the exception of maybe precious.

First, yes the movie is bad bad, but the soundtrack is fantastic. I don't think you can blame her for what went wrong with the album because the album was released on one of the worst days in the history of America, 9/11. And yes, Mariah has always had her creative control, especially since the Butterfly album in 1997 and let's not forget she's a creative genius, a songwriter and producer, apart from being popular with her vocal ability.

I saw Precious....honestly, I'm inclined to think people said she was good in it because they last saw her act in, well, 'Glitter'. Compared to her acting in 'Glitter' it was good but thats the only way it could be considered good. Taken by itself it was just.... nothingy. She had the Charlize Theron in 'Monster'-style dowdy makeunder but that didn't make it a good performance, just an unglamourous one. its depressingy how often those are seen as interchangeable when its female actors, like appearing onscreen without a full smoky eye & contour is automatically so brave it deserves nominations for everything

It actually does look like a club scene in the 1980'. I was still a child, but my brother was a bouncer at clubs and he used to take me with when he had to babysit me at night and also go to work.
