I stay in Puerto Vallarta several months each year. There is virtually no crime. You can walk the streets by yourself late at night with confidence.

Well, you have to dig deeper in the data, because crime in the US is different than the one in Mexico. By far, most of the gun related homicides in Mexico are related to drug cartels, and drug cartels only exist because of the drug culture in the US and the weapons that are being smuggle into Mexico illegally while the US government does nothing. While in the US, gun related homicides are in everyone's life, work place, grocery store, movie theaters, church, driving, and home. However, it is shameful to have so much gun related homicides; I wish the US would do something about their drug and gun culture. Saludos ✌️

Im from Scotland and live in Morelos which is a "reconsider travel" state. In the 7 years Ive been here, here are my personal victim of crime stats: Police Corruption Issues: 0 Robbery:0 Kidnap: 0 Scamming/skimming at the gas station: 0 crimes witnessed: 0 crimes in my neighbourhood: 1 (burglary) crimes in our own housing area: 0. Is there crime in Morelos? Yes.Am I as a foriegner a target for it? No. I can only go on my own experience. Countries like Czech Rep that are much safer Ive been robbed in Prague. Its all relative.

Ok 'guys', as a family of six, potentially returning to florida... possibly to invest in a home for us, so that we can enjoy our summer's with you good folk... do i need a gun?
