Does anyone ever talk about what happened to Gootecks? That change was surreal - feels like him and mike used to talk about dealing with racism (even if jokingly - like the United airlines bit) to then going full maga ?
@kyleparton4610
@kyleparton4610 3 ай бұрын
@@HowlGough Idk all the details but i remember he posted some right leaning content on twitter and a bunch of high up ppl from the fgc got mad at him and blackballed him, which made it difficult for some of his friends in that community to be public friends with him out of fear of losing viewers and gaining controversy themselves. He was also banned on twitch and they even removed the poggers emote just because he shared differnt views and showed support to the other guy. He had a mental breakdown because he essentially had his livelyhood taken from him from doing nothing wrong but expressing his political opinion. It just so happened to not be the right one in the eyes of the community. So much for being tolerant or trying to reach out to him personally to talk things out. Fgc did him dirty in my opinion.
@atlas-3012
@atlas-3012 2 ай бұрын
@@kyleparton4610 They removed his face from the 'PogChamp' emote and they did it because he supported and called for more civil unrest during the Capitol Hill/Jan 6th attack, calling the women who got shot a 'martyr'. Obviously, Twitch don't want anything to do with domestic terrorists and those supporting them.
@kyleparton4610
@kyleparton4610 2 ай бұрын
@@atlas-3012 I dont agree with gootecks or the Jan 6 ppl but i saw a lot of ppl supporting the blm riots and never got the same punishment. You could argue that supporting the looting and burning of American business was also supporting domestic terrorism. It all just came off as hypocritical and as i said he chose the wrong side.

@@sunzet4640 He was the cool guy even back then, wtf are you talking about? He's always had connections. Maybe you don't play fighting games, but getting upset is literally part of the culture, nobody sits there and says "oh thank you good sir for the defeat, please may I have another?", you say "your mom is fat and you suck", that's just how it is.
@sunzet4640

@@Pax_Mayn3 It's not that he wasn't a guy with connections, I'm saying compared to everyone else that was a big name that he worked with, he was immature and made a fool of himself a pretty good number of times, especially the fact that lots of people never wanted to ever watch him play, they watched him for his personality and his rage. He was always just sub-par. Compared to Justin Wong here, I watch Modern Justin because he's always been Justin Wong. I don't watch modern Mike Ross because up until recently, he was Mike Ross

@@sunzet4640 Justin Wong is a try hard, he always play top tiers though. Sounds like a personal problem, the channel was literally about him playing the game. Nobody wants to watch a "mature" fighting game player, if I wanted that I could just take an ambien. It's not impressive for me to see someone who plays 8 hours a day and uses only broken stuff to win. It's impressive to see a "normal" player beat those types of people.
