It is not driven by aggravation, hate, or hostility to wish to use the English language appropriately and to set aside reality in favour of what a person wishes reality to be. Sorry, others right stop at the end of my nose. "Kindness" can be manipulated subjectively to mean whatever anyone wants it to mean. I think telling the truth in accordance with reality is the kindest thing you can do!

there is absolutely no reason for "hate crime" laws.. most of the time there is no hate involved.. and they will just be abused, but even if there was.. it can be covered by other laws like if you repeatedly harass someone then that is harassment. If you are simply talking about someone in the news, who is trans "woman" and say "he used to a man".. then this obviously should be nothing from a legal standpoint.. even if you repeated "he" 50 times.. if you keep sending texts to a transgender person say "You know you're a man, right?" ... "man up, sissy"... etc.. then that is harassment and a legitimate reason for there to be an issue here.

the most offensive thing here is the amount of politcal attention being focused on a such a niche issues, whether men who think, but are not women, can invade women's spaces. as we saw with the recent case of a Transwomen being put in a male prison , then if they are 'women' then surely that's an abuse of their human rights, when do we send women to male prisons. The severity of their crime is not important, Hindly was sent to a female prison. So what the state is and the likes of the SNP is saying that, equates to a person's gender is condittional of the state, they are intrinsically, but it's dependant on the state. Rob someone go to a women's prison, something serious send that transwomen to a male prison. So the people pushing this are'nt even consistent, they don't actually believe what they say. Surely if they are women, as they believe, they should under no circumstances no matter the crime, ever be sent to a male prison, i'm sure that's against the ECHR, and various UN charters. So Britton whats your view on that.

I'm only seeing a snippet of this entire discussion, but... The 'FORCING' of language! Having incorrect grammar FORCED upon us by law... when has this happened in history? If this has happened before in history, like slavery has happened in history, does this make the FORCING of incorrect grammar right? And what are the future consequences? the fact crime is perceived is the problem , this Paul Britton is a disgrace. What kind of legal system defintion of crime depends on 'feelings' Can i perceive this person India reaction as a crime what kind of useless Lawyer is this Paul Britton , where he seems fine with a legal system not dependant on provable transgression of the law, but the fact a man child cannot face that not everyone agrees with his delusions, India needs to grow the F up and stop wasting the police and courts time, because they are permantly offended. this interview is not a good look for Britton and Time, aside from being totally ignorant of the law (so who the hell would hire them) , this Britton seems fine with something out of East Germany as our legal system, atrocious man
