Lots of criticism of the content of the video in the comments section below and I wanted to clarify somethings: Firstly the video doesn’t argue that MMA being halal is the right opinion it acknowledges that the majority opinion is that it is forbidden Secondly some have asked about ring girls, alcohol MMA career etc, I think that’s a big no, if there is room to discuss then it is MMA as a form of training not a career and especially not with those clearly haram content involved. There may be room for allowing it under some conditions and circumstances. Lastly I am happy to see that most comments are negative, it makes me understand that that people on this channel are open about their disagreement and strong disapproval of the content. Jzk

@@SubboorAhmadAbbasi I appreciate your comment akhi. I think deep down all Muslim MMA fighters know this is haram. Punching the face, ring girls and alcohol aside, there is also the issue of walking around with your shirt off in small shorts and exposing your awrah. I think training MMA is a great thing, hitting pads, grappling, But everything else has very weak argument for it being halal. Allah knows best

@@Mountain90210 just my opinion but I think that brits of most people may have the best argument, even Hijab especially since he is a guy that's on the frontlines e.g. the tommy debate where Ali was not allowed and it turned into a riot or him being a public figure in general defending Islam. With the british public rising up and protesting with just a misunderstanding back in august, I think they have plenty of reason even if you follow majority opinion, because these people are on the frontline and they will remain to be on the frontline, they are the most under threat

It seems when someone really wants to justify something they will seek out every ambiguity and difference of opinion to excuse their desire. Training for fitness and self defense is one thing but to claim this as a reason to fight for entertainment is scraping the barrel.

Every time I lost my confidence completely and was overwhelmed with the anxiety. Guess what helped me to get out of my suicidal depression? Learning to fight.And you can train as much as you want and pray as much as you want but to gain the confidence back you have to test your skills against other people in a fight. There's no shortcut.

Fatwa by Shaykh Ibn `Uthaymin (may Allah have mercy on him), when he was asked: Recently there has appeared that which is known as insurance, for wealth, business and cars, and there are now companies which deal with this and insure cars in the sense that if the car is in an accident they will pay for its value and if people are killed as a result of the accident they will pay the Diyah (blood money). What is your view, seeing that they describe the insurance as a kind of cooperation? What is your opinion, may Allah reward you with good? He replied: According to what you have mentioned, we think that this is prohibited, i.e., for the car owner to pay money each month or each year to this company, and the company will pay up if an accident happens with this car. We think that this is prohibited, and that it is a kind of gambling, which Allah mentions alongside worshipping idols and drinking alcohol. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): {O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of alcoholic drinks), and gambling, and Al-Ansab (stone altars for sacrifices to idols etc.) and Al-Azlam (arrows for seeking luck or decision) are an abomination of satan’s handiwork. So avoid (strictly all) that (abomination) in order that you may be successful.} [Al-Ma’idah 5:90] The reason is that if this policy-holder pays five hundred riyals per month, then he will pay six thousand riyals per year, and perhaps he will have an accident in this year which incurs costs of twenty thousand riyals, or perhaps he will have no accident. If the former happens, i.e., an accident which incurs costs of twenty thousand riyals, then the policyholder who paid insurance will be a winner and the company will be a loser. But if the opposite happens and no accident takes place during the year, then the company will be the winner and the policyholder will be the loser. This is the essence of gambling, so it is prohibited and it is not permissible for a person to get involved in it. Do not be deceived by what people do because Allah, may He be blessed and exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): {And if you obey most of those on the earth, they will mislead you far away from the path of Allah.} [Al-An`am 6:116] My advice to my brothers is to boycott this insurance. As for their saying that it is a kind of cooperation, this is as false as it can be. Can anyone who does not get involved in this insurance benefit from this organisation? No he cannot, rather it is insurance which involves gambling. (End quote from Liqa’at Al-Bab Al-Maftuh, 23/158) Muslims have no right to deem something right or wrong. What’s right and wrong has already been made clear.

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, 'Both legal and illegal things are evident but in between them there aredoubtful (suspicious) things and most of the people have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from these suspicious things saves his religion and his honor. And whoever indulges in these suspicious things is like a shepherd who grazes (his animals) near the Hima (private pasture) of someone else and at any moment he is liable to get in it. (O people!) Beware! Every king has a Hima and the Hima of Allah on the earth is His illegal (forbidden) things. Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body if it becomes good (reformed) the whole body becomes good but if it gets spoilt the whole body gets spoilt and that is the heart. the reason I don't want the top daees or sheikhs to get involved in MMA is not due to haram halal issue. It's the fact you will get punched in the noggin multiple times. Sambo has strikes to the head, also someone mentioned body boxing..... Brother let me tell you as someone that trains body boxing is essentially useless and utterly useless for self defence, the body only does under pressure what it's used to doing. If you've ever trained in striking holistically under pressure your brain and body won't magically make muscle to brain connections that aren't there! You will resort to what muscle memory remembers and you'll end up punching the body!

Nowadays self defence verbally, legally, mentally and politically is 10x stronger than physically. We're not in prison or school. Also, if you can do ALL of what is in a complete fight (wrestle, submit, beat the body, control distance, strong, fit, quick, deal with punches and headkicks by dodging/weaving/blocking/parrying) minus the one small part of striking a face, i'd say you 100% have a strong man and strong ummah even in that once small regard that is street combat Hijab uses for a strong ummah. So the haram that is striking the face is no longer necessary, so it is haram..
@adhdmed
@adhdmed 2 күн бұрын
@xNinjaPowerz everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. Our enemies will hit us in the face even if we say it's against our religion. Muslims are getting attacked in the streets of Western countries and getting bombed, raped and shot in their own countries. Prophet Muhammad SAW Piece be upon him, didn't beat the enemies of Islam simply by speaking with them. Show strength as a deterrence .
@adhdmed
@adhdmed 2 күн бұрын
Defend yourself according to the law of the country you are in. The only way to get good at self defence is through sports like Boxing or MMA. Hitting someone in the face would be permissible only if it is necessary for self-defense and if it is in proportion to the threat. It is discouraged in Islam to use excessive force or to cause unnecessary harm, even in situations of self-defense.

This is exactly the "Exact word fallacy" brother Hijab was talking about Piers Morgan in an earlier reaction video on an interview with a female UN Member. "Brother” does not mentions brothers in faith or humanity so I would find this justification problematic. GPT: Qur'anic Usage of "Brother" in Different Contexts 1. Brother in Humanity (Universal Context): • The Qur'an refers to prophets as "brothers" to their communities, even when those communities were disbelievers: "And to the people of 'Ad, We sent their brother Hud..." - (Surah Hud, 11:50) "And to the people of Thamud, We sent their brother Salih..." - (Surah Hud, 11:61) Here, "brother" refers to a connection based on shared humanity or being part of the same tribe or nation, not necessarily faith.

I'm not an expert, but I once listened to a Joe Rogan podcast where they discussed which sport-boxing or MMA-is more dangerous, particularly concerning long-term well-being and brain health. The conclusion was that boxing is actually more dangerous, while MMA is considered comparatively safer. If I remember correctly, the reasoning was that in boxing, punches to the face with boxing gloves can cause severe brain damage, not only from the impact itself but also due to the rapid movement of the head. Boxing matches can last 10-12 rounds, and fighters are often encouraged and forced to continue even when they're hurt, taking repeated blows to the face and body. This prolonged exposure makes it more damaging and potentially lethal. In contrast, MMA fights have shorter rounds, and referees are quicker to stop a fight if a competitor is injured, submission, or knocked out. This immediate intervention minimizes the risk of further harm.

You can mitigate the haram part of fighting in mma I believe By not striking the face of your opponent to knock him out or to harm his face You can go for the body and wrestle him if you seek the the finish But, depending on the rules and the organisation, you can compete when everything is done to protect the physical integrity of the fighters. So amateur fights in mma seems ok, but in pro organisation this seems impossible

@AR_198
@AR_198 Күн бұрын
@@winybiny are you a practitioner of this sport or did you even ever compete in amateure fights ? Because in amateur it's not like in the UFC. You have some protection to preserve the fighters (head gear, shin protections), the rules forbid elbows and knees to the face, and if you have a nose bleed or a fracture to the nose, or even a face cut, the fight is ended immediately. The ground and pound is stopped by the referee after few hits (+5). MMA in amateure is more about scoring points and finishing through submissions than knocking people out (although it can happen). I believe muslims can compete in amateur MMA fights thanks to these settings that preserve the fighters. You wont get "seriously hurt" in amateure, you're not in a pro league trying to make a living out of it.

ASA. I'm a Muslim and I run my own martial arts school for the past 9 years, alhamdulillah. I have around 22 years of experience in martial arts ranging from Japanese Jujutsu as my base, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, Taekwondo, Ninjutsu, and many different types of weapons. While my school's primary focus is on self-defense, we spar every single class. I'm no scholar of Islam, but I can emphasize the importance of training. While I don't necessarily agree with the angle br. Hijab took in answering the questions, which seemed awfully defensive, I don't think anyone should have to justify wanting to train in martial arts in today's world. However, he was certainly right to say that many other people train in martial arts and if they attack a Muslim, they'll stand no chance in hell defending against them. Thinking you're strong and tough in your head won't do anything for you against a trained martial artist in a real fight, and could possibly lead to death, or even worse, injury or death against someone you love that you failed to protect. Again, as a Muslim who isn't a scholar, I encourage everyone to learn martial arts. Especially in today's world, we aren't looked at favorably by many. Instead of arguing about what's haram and what isn't, focus on the bigger issues we Muslims face such as genocide and how we can help each other. Engage less in discussions that divide us and support each other so that we're unified.

If you don't get hit in the head and you don't know what it feels like, how are you going to defend yourself in real life? I grew up getting bullied and I was repeatedly punched in the head. I've had several concussions. I don't advocate constant, repeated strikes to the head, but people need to understand what it feels like so you can learn not to fear it in a real encounter. Clarification on (Ghibah), after a simple quick search on Islam QA as recommended by the brother and other websites, nearly everyone makes a distinct clarification between (Militants) and others, as Ghibah on people you have a contract within a country of Kufr, or Ghibah of a Kafir who has safety in a Muslim land is haram. And those who say it's okay for the militants say so as part of the attack on them, like what Hassan did to Qurish, not because of the use of the word (Akh) in the ayah! And also to clarify their misconduct so people don't get misguided by them etc finally, in Islam QA the sheikh says doing (Ghibah) by mocking physical appearance or anything like that is to be avoided even with kafir.

And it is full of rules, regulations and referee which makes the fight in controlled way like vehicles or other sports. Our problem is we focus more negatively on someone who tries to better the environment of something, try to lessen the dirt or strives and tires to give better alternatives than we focus on something which is totally full of dirt, you either remove it completely or don't stop when someone is trying to do some effort to better it.
