1+ subscriber Thank you for sharing your experience with Moho. I am a newbie and want to begin with Moho as my digital 2D animation software. My dream is to become a solo 2D animation short film creator. I hope you'll be able to make more videos about the Moho. Cheer up!

Cool program, seems pretty intuitive and similar features to Toonboom, Flash, After Effects, and Spline in various aspects. Never seen the inside of the program, just heard the name of it. Now just need to find a Moho studio to hire me!

I was going to ask you this through SM but thought why not check out your KZbin channel as you probs have the answer there! I love hoe you broke it down, I feel like I could jump into Moho now easily after listening through to your video! It's giving me Duik vibes in AE. I love the 2D rigs I see coming out of Moho so I may invest!

YAAAAS Gareth, you would LOVE IT I think! Very duik vibes ❤️but way easier to set up!

I am super bad at rigging, never got Duik to work for me, but after about an hour of watching the official tutorials for the basics I was able to rig and animate something. I'm pleasantly confused at how simple it is.

Hello Dani! Thank you very much for the video. I discovered your work today and it is amazing! I also saw about your course. I have a question. I see that there are many tutorials and even videos on Moho's communication channels about working with vectors. Animations are certainly more fluid and easier to do with vectors, and they take less time to produce. But my question is about the use of images in animations, of characters and items made in PSD layers, in mesh distortion and other resources within Moho that allow fluid animation of Photoshop items, for example. My illustrations are entirely bitmap images, and I would love to animate them one day. Does your course cover this type of animation? I haven't found anyone who teaches it yet. P.S. I love watching Puffin Rock with my son and I loved seeing the updates on the character rigs in your portfolio. A big hug from Brazil to you.

Hiiiii Susan, and thank you so much for your great question! And lovely words :) In my animation course - it is literally just teaching animation with provided rigs - the rigs are vector and we animate the vectors in the exercises. For all the reasons you have aready described - they are fully controllable and therefore more desirable for an industry pipeline. All the Puffin Rock main cast are made to look as lovely as possible, like a textured bitmap storybook - but they are vectors. However, there are a ton of background creatures and plants that are exclusively bitmaps. They are easy to rig and therefore fast to implement - but what you win in Time, you lose in Control. If that's a fair swap for you, no one has any right to tell you otherwise :D One of my FAVOURITE creators who works in Moho is Camila Reis: instagram.com/cammiereis/ - gorgeous, gorgeous bitmap animations!!!! She also worked on the Puffin Rock movie, and I got to meet her at Annecy this year. Definitely worth a follow. In terms of animating bitmaps - animation is animation, there are really no secret techniques, a rig is a rig. As long as the bitmaps are rigged nicely, they can be animated in the same way I teach in my course ^-^ Loads of the Moho Library characters they provide for free are bitmaps too! (There's a big rock .. monster... snake thing!!) Super impressive!!!

I bought the debut version while it was on sale, but when I try to learn it I can’t find a tutorial that I can understand. I wanna learn it and animate with it but I’m so friggin confused and get so overwhelmed I just stop with it. Can you point me to a tutorial or something that may help me?
@mohogal5 күн бұрын
Awww!!! Don't paniccc, stick with it, it's really awesome! I taught myself but I have a lot of experience of other animation software to help me find similar tools/principles. If you're brand new, have you tried Moho's own free course? I don't fully know the limits of Debut but I think this is the best place to start: kzbin.info/aero/PLynyD-7entJ2giKWS9ReviR-exwJ3UJ3T

@@mohogal I’ll give it another go. I don’t remember why I didn’t like and was struggling the official tutorials before. This is the first rigging animation software I’ve ever worked with and I’ve wanted to use it since I have motivation issues with frame by frame TwT my only real experience is with Clip Studio

How powerful of a computer do you need? Im working on a 2014 MacBook air with 8gbs.
@mohogalАй бұрын
Ooooh that does sound a bit old 😢 the best way to check is download their free trial and see if it runs smoothly - there’s loads of free scenes and rigs with it to test! They did recently change their engine and that seems to need a more modern graphics card. You should be able to tell immediately if you’ll need an upgrade at least 🩵

Does the moho debut 14 support 360 degree animation with rigged??
@mohogal29 күн бұрын
It does include "limited versions of PRO features like Meshes, Curvers and Smart Bones" - if there is smart bone capability and your rig is simple, I would say absolutely! It's all about good decision making and testing. You can squeeeeze a lot out of designs with good planning :) If you have a very complicated character and really do need 360 function out of it (I would argue you don't!) then I think PRO will always be better!
