The “pussy cat” case reminded me of the time I had to go to court over a theft charge when I was like 19. Long story short, we took the neighbors entire contents of the freezer, cops came and made us give it back. It was supposed to be a joke (drunk joke but WHATEVER lol). College town, college housing. The only thing we didn’t give back was these 2 large frozen slabs of salmon. Like they caught these fish and froze the whole fish. Well, we were drunk so the only logical thing we did was sword fight with the frozen slabs before the cops came…at that point they were demolished & we couldn’t return them. Well the neighbors pressed charges over that. We are in court and they read the “victim impact statement” claiming emotional distress because the dead salmon slabs apparently had “sentimental value”. I literally had to turn my back to the judge because I couldn’t hold my laughter, nor could most people in the courtroom. I still have questions to this day…like once the salmon was consumed, were they going to save the shitted out salmon since it had such sentimental value? I cannot tell you how many times I’ve had to tell this story when getting a job, applying for apartments because of the theft charge. Good times 😂 RIP Sammy The Salmon 🐟

I couldn't imagine possibly ruining some young kids life over fish. It was a silly jock. They didn't find it funny, clearly, so you'd think they'd be upset, but pressing charges?! That's nuts! I've pulled some stupid pranks while drinking, so maybe I'm just a little more understanding?😂

I worked with a guy like that when I was a postal worker in the early 00s. Probably in his 50s, but he looked in his 70s. He wasn't drunk on the job. But he was so ruined by abusing alcohol and drugs that it didn't matter. Every word was slurred, he couldn't form cogent sentences, and the supervisor wouldn't let him touch a fork truck or move a cage of parcels. But he showed up on time every day and at some point he passed the scheme test. And then at the end of the shift, he tried to get everyone to follow him to the strip club for breakfast. Eggs and a beer, with a side of staph infection.

It’s possible that she’s drunk; her affect could also be a result of liver disease symptoms. Late stage liver failure causes hepatic encephalopathy…the liver can't filter toxins, so they build up in the blood and affect the brain, causing confusion, disorientation, drowsiness, slurred speech, etc. My 29-year old cousin went through liver failure (not alcohol related) and passed away recently…

My father was an alcoholic and the State of California would not put him on a transplant list until he was sober for a determined length of time, I am not sure how long. I don't think that any person with a need for a transplant should get one if they are the cause of the need.
@barbott5941
@barbott5941 24 күн бұрын
It’s not just that. If she’s going to continue to drink, her other meds that she needs to take for the rest of her life, more than likely, won’t work either. That makes her liver transplant useless, when it could have gone to better use with a person, who doesn’t drink, to give that person a longer life expectancy.

Stupid move to drink while on a transplant list IF she indeed needs a transplant. Drinking will get you removed so fast it's not funny. My sister was on a list for 2 new lungs and they told her 1 test positive for illegal drugs or alcohol and she'd be removed. Thank god last June she got what she needed and is still with us.

You could be right. I don't know the medical term for it but essentially your body can't process ammonia and you could get "ammonia brain." They have me on two different drugs that deal with that issue. One is supposed to help prevent recurrence, but I've never had it, so that is being given as a prophylactic. The other helps bind the ammonia so that you eliminate it in a form other than the normal way a functioning liver eliminates it.

I am likely to need a liver myself in the not too distant future. Remember that alcohol is not the only possible cause for cirrhosis. In my case, I suspect a combination of things that included alcohol. Prior to my diagnosis, I was beginning to get the feeling that I would still be buzzed the following day after I would get drunk. Probably was an indication that my liver was having issues. Eligibility rule number one for a transplant is that you can't drink. I guess I'm lucky that I don't have an addictive personality so that when they told me to stop drinking, I simply stopped. it's been well over a year and I haven't had a drop and have no overwhelming desire to have a drink. Would be nice if I could have a glass of champagne with my wife at New Year or a beer on my birthday, but I can't, so I don't. Agree that she looks very young for needing a transplant. I would guess I'm something like 20 years older. Doctors are very careful about what they prescribe for liver patients. I can't even take OTC pain killers.

She may be good but I don't think it's a good idea to tell the judge "hang on".

As someone who is a single mother who was never a drinker in need of a liver transplant due to an autoimmune disease, this woman infuriates me. She's self inducing her own sickness. 😢

That judge with the alcoholic is much more for women than men. A lot are. She’s messed up on something.

"If I don't understand it everyone must be wrong." 6:59 I counseled a Soldier who thought he could get out of his enlistment contract because he "didn't understand what he was signing", and merely signed where the career counselor told him to. I showed him the page that said, "I have read this entire contract, and if I had any questions they have been answered to my satisfaction. Nobody has made me any promises that are not written in this contract." .... Aaaand he had signed that statement. He said, "but I didn’t read that part either. I just signed it because the Sergeant told me to." I said, "Any court anywhere, would look at that statement -- with your signature -- and say that you had waived any privilege of claiming that you didn't understand the contract."

If this backtrack thing like an ignition interlock? I would think if she took something to her doctor they would be able to certify that whatever medication she's taking is something that would set it off.

You buy something you pay for it. And drunk in any capacity should be sanctioned.

She's not getting the liver until she can get a clean test for an extended period of time. Sad, but necessary and the kid absolutely deserves to not be raised by an active alcoholic.
