It sucks for those of us who like to rip. Prices have been expensive for a long time, but at least singles prices were a reflection of box prices. It makes zero sense to even rip retail these days with how affordable singles are. I enjoy breaks, but they definitely keep the product moving and the prices up.

The shame of it all is that opening boxes has always been part of the hobby. It's part of the experience. It's mutated into a star in the sky for a lot of collectors. Kinda sad.

I agree with you. “It is what it is” is the most overused phrase in sports. You are nearly guaranteed to hear it and/or read it in every player (or coach) interview! Other phrases that are overused and need to go away: “At the end of the day…”, “kind of”, “kind of a little bit”, and “just”. Watch a postgame interview and you will hear “just this, just that, just whatever”. “Just” is the new “uh”, “er”, or “um”. Honorable mention for the phrase “the narrative”. It’s not a narrative, it’s an Opinion.

Great breakdown. With Prizm slated for a week before Christmas, these cards about to tank in value. At 300, i think Mosaic would be a no brainer. At 450, need a lobotomy after buying a box.

I got 2 of the FOTL boxes at the last dutch auction price drop before they sold out. I opened one of them last night and pulled a Jayden Daniels Storm Prizm, a Justin Herbert Signature Highlights Auto and a Tyreek Blue Prizm /99. I agree with you that they are certainly not worth the $700 secondary market price, but at $450, I'd buy 2 more if I could.

@huxbux Yeah, I've seen some pretty brutal youtube reviews on these as well. I'm hoping my luck holds when I rip the second box, lol. I can say that the 2 FOTL exclusive swirls I pulled were nothing special, but the other pulls more than made up for it.

The answer is yes!!! It was nice for the one year it debuted as cards were hard to find during covid!!! Nobody likes rookie debut cards!!!!

Talking about Mosaic, I think it’s hard to earn your money back even in full case PYT breaks, not to mention hobby box break. In my opinion, only mosaic blasters are worth to rip.

It's hard period. I have a hard time telling anyone you can get an equal value back ripping wax. It doesn't happen often enough. It's like a casino. You might win once or twice, but in the long run, the casino is bleeding you out.

Not a big fan of horizontals…unless it’s a really nice photo that needed to be horizontal or has a really cool design element. Ones like that JJ McCarthy that could easily been vertical and has nothing interesting design wise are just a waste in my opinion
