Having competed in over 15 Mount Marathons (with several Top 5 finishes), and done races around the world, this is an amazing race with great atmosphere that challenges you in every aspect.

Yay! Alaska represent!! You should definitely get back for more of our other races. I know Billy Yang did the Crow Pass some years ago. I love getting to see my home represented in the very, very best way.

Love that you got this vid together! It's a great pump up (not that I even need any more) for when I go out there this July for my first time! Finally got selected. Looking forward to this [is a gross understatement]

Did this race the first time in 1980! Yeah, a long time ago. Signed up the day of the race,, unheard of now!. The most iconic race for Alaska by far., even back then the crowds were so supportive. The BEST of Alaska on the 4th of July!!

Dude this looks amazing. That scree slope looked fun and hell and the views. Wow. Also this looks like a great race to just show up and spectate so it's popularity doesn't surprise me. Amazing outdoor scenery, very interesting race, chance to watch people tumble down parts at the end, looks like a great day out. Great video Jamil! I saw the race footage once after I started watching Allie Ostrander channel and the google algorythm put 1 and 1 together but your footage really showed how steep and dicey it is.

My home state! I LOVE Mt. Marathon and have survived the race three times. What a glorious, muddy, bloody bout of exhilaration. Glad you got a chance to experience the real Alaska. It's pretty damned special, right? P.S. But carrying that large camera--yikes, you've got guts.

Awesome video. If you’re interested in Other Alaska races with some crazy good views I would check out Bird Ridge, Crow Pass, Kesugi, and Alyeska cirque series. Not Mount marathon but they’re all challenging and unique. The Alaska Mountain Runners Calendar online has some good info on those and a lot more.
