I have seen some of the actors talking about having to learn to pronounce the second "t" in the city's name in the early series because that's how it was said in the late 1890s. Season 16 seems to show them closer to saying "Toronto" in the current fashion. [BTW, Sacramento in English similarly lacks the emphasis on the "t" and some other modern North American pronunciations lose the letter in some words.] The question I have is whether there is some record of when the pronunciation changed.
