Work your way up in the industry to an assistant tech and prove yourself and if you’re lucky you’ll find an A1 audio technician that will take you under his wing. Nothing will ever compare to real world real time experience and on the job training from a guy that’s already climbed the mountain.

This is a great reset video for me. Time to look at exactly what I want out of music. Producer? Engineer? Just a pianist? Hmm who knows! But as I find myself i know ill keep growing and enjoying the journey along the way. I appreciate the insight on this topic!

Good points, resonates with me, I've done a few of these DJ and Production courses in London. Some better than others, more structure, able to ask questions directly, but then again, probably nothing I couldn't have gleamed off the good ol' KZbin myself and saves some money.

Glad it resonated! I agree if you are very self-driven you can learn a TON by yourself with all the amazing resources we have available to us. However, as you said having a framework, accountability, awesome teachers, and some skin in the game (an investment) can really speed up the process and help you take massive action.

Love the video man it was really interesting to hear your perspective on traditional schooling. So I’m going back to school now due to the mass reconnect program so I get to go to audio engineering school for free. I’m considering postgraduate online courses in business and additional music production courses also I’m thinking about applying to some schools out in Boston to further educate myself on recording software and mixing.

i can relate to this since i started as a vocal editor mixing for youtube covers from really basic knowledge about it with helping small artist and gain relations to other sound engineers/designers and learn alot. that way i aimed to absorb the skills while maintaining my portpolio in my initial works as good as possible so that i can upgrade my skills into a new way. i would comeback another year to comment again if i'm able to do it or not (music production or sound design) what am i talking about bruh

My experience is the same as yours. After studying business in college, I found that what I really like is music, so this year I plan to go to the Conservatory of Music to learn how to become a professional audio engineer. Before that, I have also taken some online courses. At present, I also have some foundation, but I can't find my customers and no way to make friends with people in the music industry, so I want to go to school to improve my skills and make more classmates.does it a good choice for me?

i really wanna work on radio stations and tv besides working on music and opening up my own studio so i think going to school is a good option for me since most stations wont accept people without degrees, plus i really wanna learn more since ive been struggling with production for years
@metamindmusicofficial3 жыл бұрын
Heyo! Going to audio school may be a great option for you with your goals. I would maybe suggest outreaching directly to the radio stations/tv channels you're looking at and ask them what type of experience/credentials they're looking for

how are you a sound engineering major and put a background song on your video too loud 😅
@alexshelton84899 ай бұрын
this is the second video I've watched, where the guy says the degree doesn't matter, but has one, and also used the "Clean dirty toilets" as an analogy. makes me think of the news stations that say the same exact script. kinda creepy tbh.

AAAAAHHHH!!!! it makes sense now... the recording revolution.
@metamindmusicofficial9 ай бұрын
The only way I could have this insight (and thus my opinion) is BECAUSE I went to audio school - how else would know one know? As for the toilet thing it’s a pretty common expression for the “studio intern” archetype.
@alexshelton84899 ай бұрын
@@metamindmusicofficial please tell me it’s just an expression tho. 😆😂 I’m about to jump into it. But the two schools around me are trade schools and they don’t offer avid certifications. So I’d have to do that separately, unfortunately. Still on the fence though. I just realized how my comment seemed and that wasn’t the intention, I was genuinely like, “uh oh. Simulation!” 😂

If you ever want to break into $600+ day rates... Go to an audio engineer program. The difference between school educated and KZbin educated is painfully obvious. This comes from a man that hires engineers and then fires them bc they're all talk sound guys who don't even know the basics of feedback control.

What online courses should I take to do music production
@metamindmusicofficial3 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind that obviously I’m biased… But if you’re interested in learning how to produce yourself from A-Z, I’ve created a super in depth course called Music Creator Academy. If you’re interested, we can jump in a quick call and talk about you and your music goals You can set one up with this link: www.metamindmusic.com/book Chat soon!

Do you think I should drop out of SAE
@metamindmusicofficial3 жыл бұрын
It really depends what your goals are/how much your tuition cost you. You'd want to weight the pros and cons of SAE vs online courses/practicing on your own

Halfway threw a prestigious school I can look bk and say these type of videos will make you not make moves most ppl make videos I feel are mad they didn’t go to there dream school , no one wants to learn everything on your own with a a structure , one main thing school will give you is hands on gear ⚙️, are cheap room stuff will never get close to , you will always at any age need experience on high end gear , or rent one lol or be strictly a handicap programmer , hands on celebrity studios is also a experience, this why we make music for the experience, but get its never too late go there after you like me a watch hella videos and go there and ace school , lil tip thank me later, it also put you around other artist and not just your self in studio
