Hey Steph, I was researching a little about JoJo’s situation. And this one person said sometimes feeding some corn and grains, a fungus grows on it and causes high amounts of estrogens, like chemicals. It’s invisible and hard to detect and pigs and cows have bagged up from it, teats and vulva’s swollen. This fungus is called Zearalenone and grows best in humid conditions, 70 to 90F. You could research this

From what I have observed ,if she is pregnant u have to prepare because when a cattle is near to give birth there udder will start to swell 1 week or 4 day before giving birth and the substance that can out of her udder was colostrum that helps to build the immune system of a new born. Please do an ultrasound for conformation, good luck guys

No experience with cows here, but I have had a goat get a precocious udder. Basically she gets a bag with milk just from hormones and was not bred or pregnant.

I would get a vet out, however, in my experience, heifers bag up toward the end of the pregnancy not at the start, and you said JoJo has been in heat a lot this summer. So, my guess is she is in some sort of pseudo pregnancy. Either way, good luck. Love your videos.

So I think I know what could be going on. This can happen with horses too, so what this could be is in their hay, grain, or grass there actually can be increased estrogen. So sometimes when a cow, horse, goat etc. goes into heat or is coming out of heat their body tells itself to start producing "milk". When this happens it actually isn't milk, it usually is just a semi clear fluid that is a result in the increased estrogen. This happend to my horse a couple months back and we talked to my vet and he said it is actually pretty common. So as long as she is going into heat I think she isn't pregnant, but who know maybe she is!

in my many years of breeding cows a cow can start to bag up as early as 8 weeks before giving birth so be ready or she has precocious mammary development and lactation or mastitis, you should probably get a vet to check her out btw love your vids

my mare goes into milk whenever she goes into heat which isn't very normal but horses will randomly go into milk I don't know if it's the same with cows. but if she is pregnant she is due in a few weeks.

I have cows they start bagging up in the first 2 to a few months but I think if jojo is pregnant she will be fine because she is a bigger cow. You really only have to worry about watching your cows when there about to have there baby if they are a smaller cow. Hope this will help you

She looks pregnant to me!!! it’s usual for heifers to bag up VERY close to birth. also be careful when milking if she is pregnant because the first flush of milk is the colostrum😊 (i’m sure you knew that but just a FYI)

cows usually bag up around 6-8 months prgnat however ive seen some bag up at 3 months, i would personally have a vet check her. but it is dangerous to get milk from her once she gets closer to birth because if you do it too much it can put her into premature labor

I would get a vet exam on her just to make sure everything is okay with her. If she is pregnant it would be good to know how far along she is to make sure the pregnancy is going well. Could also be a false pregnancy. It happens in woman (rarely) and in dogs. I also saw the comments and they are suggesting scary stuff so vet exam would be the responsible thing to do to be on the safe side.

She could bag up anywhere from 2 months to 2 days before birth! Id day if shes producing milk shes probably bred. However sometimes heat cycles can trigger heifers to produce milk. If she is bred (Probably is. ) I guess One of your steers isn't really a steer lol. Or a bull got in somehow. I would get a vet out to Preg check her. Either way its exciting. Jolene is old enough now to have a baby anyway so Im sure she would be fine! Jerseys in my experience and easy calves and good Moms!
