As someone who used to install stereos back in the late 80's and early 90's I 100% support your message about using the proper harness and wiring them correctly. It used to kill me people wouldn't spend the $10 to $20 and would cut the factory harness. We were always more than happy to charge them the extra hour of labor plus both harnesses to fix it in order for us to do the install and guarantee it. Lol

This is so cool for a couple reasons. 1 is that Hoovie had a porsche like this with a v8 and it was also HIS favorite car. Seems to be a great combo. The second reason is Jay Lenno on his garage channel has many videos where he talks about the old days of combining European body and suspension with American power since both were better at that part respectively. It's cool to see that 50 years later after those cars Lenno was talking about, the same rule still works. I would love to see it with a turbo or supercharger or maybe aluminum block.

FYI, I had a 2000 C2 and drag raced it at Carlsbad Raceway which was an unprepped drag strip. I ran 13.6 and 0-60 in 5 seconds was pretty good for a C2. So you smashed that. The 2000 996 Turbo could do 0-60 in 4 flat and 12.4 in the quarter so you’re in that range.

Love this build. The Yosemite Sam “BACK OFF” exhaust pipes are so great!😊
@kyletice811Ай бұрын
Should weight and corner balance the car with driver in the driver seat. Balance without a driver is useless. A single adjustable endlink on the front and rear sway bars can help you release any preload from height setting also. Leave the bars loose. Do the corner balancing. Adjust the link to slip into place while loaded evenly.

My favorite car channel comes through again. Kudos to the Stay Tuned team for this PowerKraut build. Tony has such great friends. Kudos to Blake, too: a lot of guys who own premium automobiles would be reluctant to race them in this situation. It was very cool to see both vehicles perform in competition. Will PowerKraut get ABS brakes in the near future?
@Brock_LandersАй бұрын
Also Tony, one thing that would make that car look awesome now that it's slammed is to use some bullet mufflers, tuck them underneath, and put some dual tip staggered tips (staggered as to match the round shape of the rear bumper), and mount them flush. It's not my car, but I'm just offering some tips. That's what I did with my 135i with a Magnaflow exhaust and it looks awesome.

I’d love the LS 911 setup and the Gt3 comparison however I’m not sure that you gave yours the best shot at handling because of sway at pre load. Adjustable sway bar endlinks are pretty much necessary with a coil over set up unless maintaining stock ride height. Cross weights were awesome out of the box so you may have gotten lucky and there was no weight in the drivers seat. I know I’m a nerd but technically the sway bar links should be disconnected while corner weighting, a half tank of gas, and the driver (or equivalent weight) should be in the driver’s seat. Once all of the corners are where you want them and with the driver seated, adjust the sway bar end links so that the attachment bolts slide in and out of the heim joints easily. If you have to force the attachment bolt in then you will have pre-load. Just sayin’ 😂 Keep up the great work. You guys are fun to watch!

Really fun. Nice job. I'd love to see what times he could pull in the Powerkraut, and you in the GT3. Autocross-style courses clearly aren't what the GT3 is optimized for. What a cool guy to be willing to wring it out for us. Thanks, Blake! I busted out the calculator, and am pretty excited to see that my road-race-style Datto project has a better power-to-weight than the Powerkraut. For that matter add a couple of Turbos to the 5.3 after rebuilding it.add in a much better suspension system and better brakes and calipers and then see what it’s capable of. With an LS9 under the hood it would still be cheaper than a Factory Porsche GT3 or 911.
