Most police are pretty chill as long as you are respectful, seem in control, mindful of traffic and wearing reasonable safety gear. When you're riding' stay out of confrontations with everyone and be respectful and most officers won't bother you as long as you don't taunt them or cause a safety issue to others.

Its illegal to ride any electric bike on any street or bike trail even bike lanes in my county. You can only go in OHV areas or private property. But if it is "pedal assisted" then you can ride in the bike lanes. Even if you dont need to pedal to make it go, as long as they have pedals like a normal bike you're all good.

Heres the answer in general, tho it varies by state, most laws will be similar. Read up on your particular state. For me (new york) the bike has to be a low powered bike, 750 watts or less. Cant ride over 25 mph, which at 750 dont worry, your not getting more speed than that. Must have usable pedals. That means class 1 and 2 ebikes are legal. Class 3 ebikes reach or exceed 30 mph. Electric dirt bikes are well over these specs and dont have operable pedals, they do not count as ebikes, they are e dirt bikes, which are viewed under the law as normal dirtbikes/motorcycles. Bikes like talarias and surrons dont visibly pass as dirtbikes and the specs are not well know and thusly can pass as ebikes for now, though technically they are electric dirtbikes. until law enforcement or legislation is more strict on them. My advice, ride like a car, dont stand out with colors or a large bike, have pedals, obey the law, most cops wont notice or care. Start wheelying a bright green dirtbike and you get what you ask for. Your welcome.

(Not 100% on that) mirrors or at least one. So really, a headlight, brakelight, turn signal lights, a mirror or two*, and was approved to have plates (I believe dmv does this?) I mean, their are Enduro bikes, which is basically a road legal dirtbike (I'm sure their are more differences just pointing out the obvious one). So it can't be impossible to make it legal, I would assume. But yeah the electric aspect of this bike makes it to be determined imo. Avg cruise speed and avg ride time may be a factor? Can't be doing 35 in a 45mph zone, and possibly has to have a battery life that lasts longer than say 15-30 minutes at cruise speed? I certainly don't know, just a random giving my thoughts on it.

You should've NEVER provided your identification to the officer for simply entering a public building to ask a innocent question, so YOU could abide by the law. This was disturbing to watch and was as if the officer was hilariously attempting to intimidate you, in case you planned on filing a report (hopefully not). I am a LEO in AZ and you should abide by the law and never argue with LE, but you should also know your rights and voice them respectably when they're being infringed upon. This might not educate the officer in the moment, but it will later, especially if they are in the wrong. Sorry for the rant. Record everything ;) Nice bike!

My e-bike goes 90 miles an hour and it's custom built on a 8000 watt battery what's 84 volts and to be honest you don't really get many problems as long as you follow the rules but it also depends on the state you're in I'm in Montgomery county and my e-bike is so fast I love it I don't even own a car or have insurance or registration and I've been driving the bike for almost 4 years now

Street legal requires you to have a headlight, tail light, turn signals and a horn basically. As far as road legal with or without a license most states require licenses for anything over 50cc. Even if it's electric watts can be converted into CC.

The law is clear on them. 750 watts max with power cut off at 20 mph or it is not allowed. If it can go over 28 mph you have to insure ot and register it as a motorcycle and use it on the roads. I can pull up the laws in 5 seconds.

Well.. generally, in order for a bike to be "street legal" it needs too have left and right indictors (two switches that turns on both back and front lights indicating which way your turning), a red brake light, an low headbeam light, a high headbeam light, and two mirrors in order for the bike to be "street legal". Im not a law professor nor got a drivers license yet despite planning on getting one, but Im pretty sure those are the main things too make a bike or electric bike "street legal"

Built my own ebike for less than 1500. Or get the parts online and take it to a shop and pay a lil more. You should be able to get a solid 60v battery and 1500w hub motor kit for less than $900. Upgrade your fork, brakes, and tires from there. Since you will be using a bike lane, be wary of bike lane traffic and road traffic simultaneously. You sit between their speeds. Best experience advice I can give.

E-bikes and scooters are coming towards the end of that golden zone where there's not a whole lot regulations surrounding them. Some places already have laws in place and are fairly strict. While other states don't really have much if any laws on top of what is already on the books for normal bicycles. I'll bet within a few years we will start seeing ridiculous laws and over regulations surrounding them as we do on most things.

Ive been riding for over 40 yrs and the first question that comes to mind is, does it have turn signals, mirrors, headlight and brakelight If it doesn't come originally with these things, probably not street legal. Plus the manufacturer normally states in the manual if it is.

In most states, any e bike thats more than 50 cc isnt legal and needs to be registered. You cant just ride them. But they do have a couple states ehere surrons and stuff are legal. Just have to do a quick google search. Small towns from what i seen don't care if you srent on main streets or bothering people. Just like dirt bikes.

I'm not a lawyer or even in law enforcement, still I can tell you that without brake lights, turn signals, a rearview mirror and probably a license plate. It doesn't seem like it would be considered street legal. Plus razor makes what most would consider strictly recreational vehicles and for a particular age group. That group being children, as in not for adults. Some young adults that aren't over a certain height and weight limit could technically ride one but I can't think of many (I know that I could never feel comfortable on one I'm 6'2" and nearly 200 pounds) that would even consider riding one comfortable because of it's small size and lack of having enough power to keep up with (or evade) traffic. I wouldn't be very comfortable riding that thing if a car or possibly something larger like a truck or something came near me traveling at even a legal rate of speed on a public road. Imagine what could happen in the event of an accident, you'd be killed or worse severely injured and have to live the rest of your life disfigured and crippled, you wouldn't want that all in the name of fun.
