Can u explain the difference between a settlement conference and a mediation and tell me which is better.

It could be different in your jurisdiction, but in Kentucky a settlement conference is held in federal court cases only. The judge presiding over the federal case leads the settlement conference. The judge can tell you how he will likely rule on certain issues on the case. Mediation is ran by a neutral mediator that does not have any authority to make decisions on the case, but does provide their feedback and opionions to help try to get the parties to reach a resolution. They both can be very helpful in getting cases resolve. I can't really say one is better than the other as that may depend on the facts of your case.
